Greetings and salutations all. I'm not sure how many people read old, unupdated stories in the story section, but some of you may have recalled seeing a series called Worst Magical Girl Ever. It was the first story that I ever wrote. I always liked it, so a month or so ago I decided to start adding to it again. Reading over it again, however, I realized that I used to really suck. It been almost four years since I wrote the first chapter, and I write completely differently now. To do the project right, I decided I would have to rewrite it from the beginning. And since it's anime-based story, I figured it would be cool if its premise is that of an OAV to the old series. So it's kind of the same, but totally different. This is kind of a drafty version, but I kind of just want to put it out there now. So without further ado, here's the first chapter in a hopefully continuing saga.
What is the universe? It’s hard to say. Is it the summation of all that exists? Is it a finite space-time continuum in which all of reality is suspended? Or is it simply some giant alien’s fishbowl? Nobody knows the answer. The universe as it stands is both inscrutable and unknowable. Alternate universes, on the other hand, are much better understood, having been explored in such mediums as that one episode of Star Trek, every comic book ever, and even such philosophical luminaries as Darkwing Duck. Not only are these universes home to evil, bearded versions of all of us, but also worlds where familiar tales play out in unexpected ways. So relax, true believers, and prepare to be taken to one such familiar world.
Gil Kajime lived in paradise. It was a paradise that was only one-hundred square feet, but it was still a paradise. He had everything he could ever want from life. Magnificent posters lined his walls and ironic t-shirts filled his dresser. His bookshelf was stuffed with the graphic novels and rows upon rows of intricately detailed figurines stood ready to guard them. Yes friends, he had everything he could ever want from life in his room. It was truly God’s country. While there, he could know true happiness. But, unfortunately for Gil, he was not in his room.
