I am teaching myself photoshop...

Postby May-chan » Sat Jun 17, 2006 12:27 am

it is hard learning and getting used to things...

and ESPECIALLY hard as I do not have a template!!!

I'll be posting questions and such here (in this thread) in hopes that someone who knows their stuff will be able to assist me... I have no questions atm because it is past twelve and I am sooooooooo tired... so...

here is my first ever photoshop work of art... and a broken wrist...

Well it's popular I guess, a lot of artists use a bunch of other things or things in combination I know so /shrug

and it has a lot of bells and whistles that's why I'm figuring it out and will have questions for any passer-by who is a veteran with the program...

Um..... I'm not to sure but I think as the name implies photo-shop. It's a program that let's you work (shop) on art (photo). The big thing I think they like to use for is the fact that they can use tools to help make there art better. You know stuff like layers and the paint bucket. Also a lot of web-comic guys use it so they can add text and/or word bubbles with easy.
With Photoshop you can also color in stuff. With the layers system it's easy to add the darker shadows to add depth.

Also it's really sweet to use a Wacom tablet so you can draw on the tablet so that it shows up on the document.

Hey, that looks really good. Much better than my first attempts with Photoshop. Mind you, I prefer to scan a hand-drawn image and then do the color, shading, etc. in-program these days.

Nah I actually got mine for a good cost, its not a huge one its a smaller one. BTW if you need any help with anything I have taken a few photoshop/adobe base classes in college.

ALSO I am so doing this when I have time to digital paint. Going to start a Quick Drawing topic or somone else can and you basicly draw/digital paint/paint what ever a piece of artwork really quick and post it on the topic. ^^
