Lance: Wait. What pupil? There's no pupil there. Although, I have heard of an ancient Chinese legend, where if you look at the image of a pink-haired tomboy and see a ghostly blue eye, you are fated to be someday dragged to a party and left passed out in a drunken stupor with several new tattoos, the least of which reads "I Wet my Bed" across your forehead.

But then again, who believes in ancient Chinese legends? =D

Musashi: Fluff. Fluff? FLUFF? What form of insidious ploy is this, to glomp and then fluff? And what's not to forget? Geckos aren't very glompable! They have delicate skin. And you should wash your hands after handling geckos. Dirty! We're very dirty. Yes.

...

Ahem.

Two of my ex-classmates on there have both placed in the Rising Stars in Manga contests, and they're both being published soon. One by Slave Labor, and the other by Tokyo Pop! I personally won't feel comfortable going there until I get more practice. XD You should see how many rough sketches and erasing I go through when trying to find the right pose.

That's really cool that they are doing that, but I'm on deviant and my stuff looks horrid next to yours. I had the same feeling about deviant before I joined, but there are like 25 bad artists for every really good one.

Wow, those are fantastic, but I'm kinda biased, with the Don Hertzfeld quotes and all :D Mint and the angel with the paintbrush are really cute, too. Draw more! :)

Geckojira wrote:You've pretty much got it down pat, Karmelo! Congradulations. Umn, I skimmed your Deviant Art site, and the pic of Ayu battling the paint brush really caught my eye. It was just too cute, so I had to do a fanart of her and a paintbrush. Sorry for the shoddy inking and the messy wings! And, umn, the fact that she's missing a halo. Ahem. I forgot.

Da Prize!

Well, two things. First off, forget the errors, they're barely noticable, as I made a high-pitched 'squee' noise when I saw this. It made my dog bark.

Second off, you made realize I've done something terrible: I have never made an Ayu plushie. I'll need to go out and buy cloth and thread. And I think I need more stuffing. I'll go and check.

Anywho, about deviantart, even if there are artists better than you, so what? I mean, two of my friends know they're not very good at drawing and they both have DA pages, because they can amuse themselves and others with their art. So yeah.

I'm just saying, though. Don't feel I'm trying to force you to join. 'Cause I don't have my stabbing knife on me, so I can't force you. I do have a breadknife, though. And there's a spoon that was cut up in the dishwasher beside me. ...I think I lost my train of thought somewhere.
Eh.

I'll never forget you Fry-MEMORY DELETED

Postby Geckojira » Tue Jun 22, 2004 4:04 am

Well, today was pretty unproductive for drawing. I slept poorly, woke up tired, and ended up going to the beach with some people! But as I'm trying to keep up with drawing stuff more frequently, I managed to sketch (messily) two pieces that were more frustrating than they should have been. Woo, my first male video game characters done as female just for MSF! Who could they have been?

He always struck me as tall, dark, and seductive.

Well um. He was tall! And... well, as Scary Movie 2 taught us, one can ignore the face for the body, with a little help from a paper bag. c_c;

So. Tired. Didn't. Get any work. Done on stuff for other people. Must. Sleep. And recuperate for tomorrow. x_x

Damn. And buy a new mechanical pencil and fat white eraser. I managed to lose mine at the beach!

EDIT - Oh, about Deviant Art! Does anyone know anything about the contract? Because it looks pretty damn reaching to me. My paranoid friends use it, so it can't be -that- unsafe, but some of the clauses make me worry about certain creative rights. Then again, the exhaustion could be leaving me paranoid and delirious.

First one: For some reason, that design works better on a male.

Second one: LIKE OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That scares me. Although, I could some great jokes involving any of the characters related. Venom, Slayer, and Millia particularly, I'd love to see how they'd interact.

Dear gauge, I love that. Faust is like the greatest character ever. I have a whole bunch of animated gifs on here of him, and quite a few doodles of Karm dressed as Faust around here. But yeah, the high heels kinda scare, but I love the rest of that design.

From what I remember, it's pretty laxed, but I think it says something like 'As long as your art's on our site, we own it' more or less. I may be completely wrong though, so it's best not to listen to me.

Gecko. You are the man. This site needs more Guilty Gear art. You should do more... maybe make those ones more distinct in the lines and color them.

Hrmn. Deviant Arts sounds like some sort of black hole to me. I'll talk to some more artist friends to see what they think. c_c; I'd really like to have my art posted on a sort of critique site, since it tends to be helpful, so we'll see!

As for today, dang. My sleep deprivation meant I woke up late, and just when I started to set the base colors for an image I'm working on (it's for one of the Princesses! Ooooh!), a friend invites me out for dinner. Well, dinner turned into an evening of Arrogant Bastard consumption, so now I'm fairly inebriated. But! Alcohol will not keep me from posting a new piece of work! Because. Um. Because?

...

Why am I doing this?

Oh. Right. Because I need to keep drawing so I'm not a lazy bum! Well then, here's something I drew -and- sketched while buzzed/drunk, just for the MSF board. Woo!

I is Russian muscle!

Since it's all inked and not cross-hatchy, it's likely that I'll color it sometime. Later. After I finish stuff for other people. Princess! Dark swarthy gunwielding trench coat man! Oooh, the stuff I must finish.

...

Okay. I is needing sleep. *wanders off all zombie-like*

We are the Champions...

Postby Geckojira » Wed Jun 23, 2004 12:28 pm

God save the Queen.

My hand hurts. It hurts a lot right now. I swear, if anyone ever wants me to draw a kimono again, I'm going to do a frikkin' stick figure with a triagle as the kimono! Argh. Argh! That was one of the most painstaking things I've ever CGed in my life!

Ahem. But I'm very happy with the results. As it turns out, I couldn't sleep, and the Arrogant Bastard was wearing off, so I decided to finish coloring the Princess image. Hours later, more hours than I expected since I was in a partial daze and also chatting with what few other nightowls (or early birds) were awake, I finally finished it!

...

Anyone who points out the inadequacy of the grass gets a rabid clone of Musashi and Samiko put together on their ass. Not only does it double-glomp, but the horrendously cute monstrosity also fluffs with the fiery lava of Hell itself!

...

Yeah. Um. So here's the image. Guess who Princess it's supposed to be. (If you look at the URL, you cheated!)

Smaller image, for the bandwidth-challenged.

Larger image, for those big strapping broadbanders.

Enjoy, Princess who requested that! I hope you like it. :>

I think I'll sleep now. Maybe. Where did my sleeping schedule go? *wails*

edit: And no, she's not leaning against the tree. Um. It's back and down the hill a little. And... the pathetic grass is shaded by clouds. Yeah. Okay. Right.

I'll really miss Jei... it's good to have some picture as a momento. We must never forget that Jei was the first one to be trusted with the title of Princess.

Thanks Geckojira!
