THe main problem with "musarequest" is the shoulders. Since the arm on the viewers left is coming over to block the person back, that person's shoulder would naturally turn towards the person, rather than sit far back from the action. Sure you could make the post the way you did it, but it wouldn't be a natural position and wouldn't give you enough leverage to fight. And by bringing that should towards the oncoming person, the other shoulder would natural rotate back. The only other way you could do that pose is if you somehow indicate that it's a "snap motion" like the kind of thing that makes you... snap at a fly you suddenly see, in other words she's been caught totally by surprise and her body is just now reacting to this unwanted person.

the one with the cloak is a boy, its Thorn, and the girl is Alex... you'd have to be on IRC to get the general feel of the picture though, but its a great job with the emotion!

The face is good, the tone of the pic is good... but the anatomy... did you do this straight to ink?

The viewer's right shoulder is totally detached from the body, the hand holding the knife tilts away from the viewer but the blade tilts towards the reader and the feet are shaped right but lack the actual definition to make them look solid.

Experiments are good though, they keep you from going stale.

Thank you! I'm really pleased with this 'Black and white with a color setting it off' design stuff I've been playing with. It's basicly life drawing, twisting around a picture reference slightly... though now that knife is bugging me in the Blue one. Geh.
