[Musashi]

Before heading in, Kajika went to Chuusa and nudged him with her foot.

"I assume we'll need all of us." Nudgenudge. "Hey, wake up!"

[Goose]

"...Hmmmmmm...???"

Waking up drowzy-eyed, Chuusa looks up at whoever nudging him.

"Whuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut is ittttttt.....?"

Realizing what he's supposed to be doing, he gets up in a rush, smacking his face to wake up.

"Geez... This was a bad idea..."

He lets out a groan and finally recognizes Kajika.

"Well thanks for waking me up, I guess... Let's go inside and see what we can find."

[Musashi]

Kajika nodded and headed quickly into the cave.

[Xia]

* as the three enter the mine shaft, they come into a poorly lit room. There is enough light to see by, but not much after that. Standing in the back, next to a doorway is Mai, like they have never seen her before *

* Her head has stayed the same, her forehead protector still splayed over her eyes, obscuring them from view. However, that is all that is the same. matte black plate mail covers the top of her shoulders, and spilling out from under that is a matte black cloak that covers her body almost completely. All that can be seen is the very bottom of her boots, black of course, and coming from her back, the ninja-to they saw her wearing earlier * (Think Sandrock Kai from Gundam Wing Endless Waltz, shoulder armor and cloak, only the armor is not so bulky, still curious, ask me, I'll provide some pictures)

"Glad to see you all made it. Welcome to my world. Over the years I have spent almost all of my time down here training. As you progress further into the mines, visibility becomes less and less. There is a point, where visibility becomes zero, and you are in all respects, blind. This is where I shall train you. Your eyes can and will decieve you, so I will train you to overcome sight."

"now is the time to ask some questions"

A smart ninja would recognize just how valuable training in the dark could be for a shinobi like Chuusa. His mother's clan is known for their assassins, masters of the killing arts, and Chuusa wants to follow in these footsteps. Ninjas, assassins especially, work best in darkness, and his sensei's training fits right up his alley. Yes, a smart ninja would indeed recognize this. But not Chuusa.

"Awww geez..." He says, scratching the back of his head. "I hope I don't fall asleep in here..."

[Musashi]

Kajika leaned back against the wall of the cave, arms folded across her chest.

"So, what exactly is the purpose of training us here? How is it any better than any other place?"

[Princess Shiko]

Misato rolled her eyes, then, realising the gesture was next to useless in the darkness, explained. "I'm going to guess that she wants us to learn to blindfight. This would be the ultimate place to learn to do so; in pitch blackness, seeing isn't an option, even through a blindfold. Barring that.. well, if it's some other exercise, she has a superb advantage over the rest of us, so it may end up being some form of team-building that, while she can moderate it, truly requires us to know our stuff or to work together. Am I right?"

[Xia]

"You are quite right in the fact that I have all the advantages in this exercise, for some reasons you know, and for others you have no idea"

* Mai gestures to a table, with 3 packs on it *

"In these packs are rations for 3 people for 3 days. However, there are only 2 qts of water per pack. Scattered throughout the mines are caches of water, and in 3 areas, access to streams."

*Mai's hands slip out from hidded slits in the cloak and perform several hand seals, in very quick succession. In the low light, and due to the speed at which she did them, it is very hard to see exactly what she did. *

"Kai"

*at release, a small glowing string flows out from her feet, one for each genin. the moment the string touches a genin, it vanishes*

"If for some reason you are unable to continue, focus your Chakra on my name, and release. I will be able to track via the string of chakra. If for some reason I need to find you quick, I can do the same thing"

"Any questions or comments before I continue?"

[Goose]

Picking his head up, Chuusa isn't quite sure if he heard all of the instructions. He's falling asleep again.

"N...no. No questions."

Just because he has no idea what he's doing is no reason to let the others know that. He rubs his eyes and decides to try to tough out the training with sheer willpower...

...Yeah. I'm sure that will work real well.

[Musashi]

Kajika shrugged, shifting occassionally from side to side, seeming to be quite anxious to get on her way. "No, no questions."

[LazyShiko]

"How long should we expect to be down there?" The girl glanced at her instructor.. or where she was pretty sure her instructor was generally, that is. "And what should we expect to face?"

[Xia]

"Well Misato-chan, the fact I am giving you three days worth of food suggests as to how long you three will be down there"

* carefully hides a smile in the darkness *

"As for what you will face...well, in the dark, can you be really be sure of anything your eyes show you?"

* chuckles, the sound eerily fading into the darkness, as right in front of them, what they thought was their teacher fades away, the doorway they entered through rippling into a solid wall *

"Well great." Misato shook her head. "So neither question really answered. Three days worth of food SUGGESTS that it's going to be three days.. but doesn't mean anything. All it means is that she gave us three days worth of food. It could get spoiled, it could get lost, or we could be expected to ration it." She paused. "so are we sticking together or what?"

[Goose]

A boy's groan fills the cavern.

"Relax, Misato. Just prepare for three days, and if runs longer than that, call for Sensei... If you really want something to stress out about, I'd say you should worry that our entrance just closed up behind us... "

Chuusa puts his hands in his pockets and looks around for a place to continue in the mines.

"As for sticking together, you can follow me if you want, but I intend to see just what our instructor can do... If that scares you, you'd better find somewhere to hide."

The young man walks into a dark corridor, delving into the mines. He smiles confidently, as he is positive that the two young ladies with him were no doubt impressed by his bravado. He looked very cool just now, without question.

"Oof!"

...Until he walked into a wall. This is going to be harder than he thought.

[LazyShiko]

Misato reached into her pack and pulled out a length of metal about the length of a cane. She flicked her wrist, and it telescoped into a staff. Hearing Chuusa's grunt, she laughed in spite of herself. Using the staff like a cane, she walked forwards and tapped him on the shoulder. "You might consider getting some sort of help with that, there, smart boy."
