Well, I think maybe I could write a story?
Though, I won't have a name for it for a while^^.
"What will you have, then?"
A dim lighted tavern, at the town of Cairbara. The barkeep, with a rugged beard, rubbed a cloth over the counter.
"...Anything with alcohol in it, please. Anything will do."
My name is Daniel. Nothing but a traveler, honing my skills of the blade. I've done jobs ranging from demon hunting, to rescuing kittens from trees. But now, I really need a drink.
Daniel lets out a sigh, and runs his hand through his hair.
"So, what brings you here, to this small town?" The barkeep asked, sliding a drink down the counter.
"Well, I heard you were having some trouble in the tower across the way, thought I could help." Daniel grabbed the glass and downed it in one gulp.
"Ooh..stranger, that's not a place someone like you should be going. Many 'ave gone there, but nary a one has returned. Let me make you an offer. You seem like a nice guy, so, if you don't go anywhere near that tower, I'll give you free drinks, as many as you want."
"What are you hiding, that you would gamble so much, just to keep me from going there?" Daniel asks quietly, tapping the counter, to alert the barkeep he wants more.
"...My sons, they all tried to end the tyranny that oppressed us. What happened to them....I don't want to say." The barkeep slides another glass down the counter, shaking his head.
"Hm...Thanks for the offer, but, as much as I want free drinks, this tower has piqued my curiosity far past the normal limits..." He downs his second drink, and stands up, tossing a few coins on the counter, and starts to walk off.
"Wait! Think this over, boy! You do NOT want to go there! Horrible things, boy, HORRIBLE!"
"I think I'll take my chances. I can almost guarantee that I'll be back tomorrow night, victorious. Have a nice night."
Daniel pushes the door to the tavern open, and slips out into the dark.
"Well now...what to do...Ah!"
Daniel smacks his fist down to the palm of his hand.
"Information! It wouldn't hurt to be completely ready for whatever is there..."
Daniel walks until he ends up in the town square. Around him are houses of great size, painted a veriety of colors. But, one thing stood out in the masses of oak and maple. A single hut, nestled between two houses, with what looked to be a solitary candle lit. There was a sign that said 'information' over the door, and there seemed to be nobody there.
"Well, it wouldn't hurt to try...Of course, why is there a booth here?"
Daniel creeps up to the door, knocks gently, and listens.
"Nothing...maybe it was just a trick of light..."
As he turns to walk away, the door creaks open, and a rickety old man stands at the doorway.
"Welcome...how may I be of service? Let me guess....you need intel on that tower over yonder?"
"Why...yes, I do. How much would it cost to...procure information about the tower's history, inhabitants and all?"
"Hmm...I would say...1000 gold."
"A thousand!? You're out of your mind, old man! Nobody would pay that much for information of such little esteem!"
"Well, suit yourself, yound man, but don't come crying to me when you find yourself in a trap that you didn't know about..."
The old man turns, and starts to shut the door behind him.
"...Wait! Okay, one thousand gold, here."
Daniel hands the old man the gold, and the old man invites him in.
"Well, you made the right choice. Okay, I have all manner of information on this tower on that hill over there, what do you need first?"
"You mentioned something about traps? It would be nice to know everything about them." Daniel sits down on a stool, and watches the old man busily rummage through drawers in search of the papers he needed.
"Yes...yes. Here we go, a map, everything that I know about is in here, traps, entrances, escape routes, everything." He hands Daniel the scrap of paper, carefully, as it is quite fragile.
Daniel looks over the paper, checking the small legend in the corner, identifying traps and doors.
"Wow...this is pretty good...Now then, I need history about the tower, and what is there now."
"Ah, yes...there isn't much history to tell, though the tower is old, it only recently became inhabited with demons, and the leader of these demons, is said to be a mage of great esteem, or, at least, the spirit of him."
"Tell me more about this 'spirit,' especially weaknesses, and the like."
"Well, my best information is that he was an awful womanizer, and was chased out of his country, exiled to here, and has taken residence in the tower because of it. He may be corporeal, or maybe just a spirit, but, one thing is certain, he was, and still is, VERY powerful."
"What exactly was he exiled for? I mean, last time I checked, womanizing wasn't exactly illegal, until you physically harm a girl, right?"
"Well, the magics he used were seen as...unorthodox. He wouldn't stop at asking the girl out, and groping her, but he would also control her using his magic, to do all manner of things, and, you can tell where that leads to."
"Anything about the people who haven't returned from his tower?"
"Not really, all I know is that the barkeep's three sons...aren't his sons anymore."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"That's all you'll get for a thousand, now, out, freeloader, unless you've more to pay!"
"...Fine. Thanks for the stuff, I'm much obliged. Have a nice night..."
"Okay, information...Now, to find somewhere to rest..."
Daniel found an inn at the corner of town, payed the last amount of gold he had, and climbed the stairs to his room, to get a good night's sleep.

Well? I don't think I'm too good at this, compared to some people, but, do you think it's...average at the least?
