Ack... Made a poll where I haven't decided which answer to go with. I guess I'll post mine once I think of the one that I want to go with. I was more preoccupied with getting a decent array of choices. ^_^;

I live with eveyday people. They arn't that bad.

The stuff you see on the TV is terrible. The music of the day is hogwash. Politics such. Just a bunch of people that desire power and money.

However, we are not dead. So I count it as all good. ^_^

Can't argue with nature. If we're still around, we're doing something right.

last I checked we still exist, so we've seemed to survive fine so far. Could do better, but everything could always do better.

Nothing's perfect, but humanity is doing it's best to survive, or else we wouldn't be the dominant species of the planet, not to mentionwe would have died out already if humanity wasn't doing well.

I find humanity as a whole to be some completely messed up that if it was up to me I would scrap the project. I think that pretty much sums up my opinion.

I decided to vote for "screwed up." Because humans are too reckless and inconsiderate and do too many unnatural things with the main aspect about themselves that truly set them apart from the rest of the creatures on the planet. And I don't find the thought that we're the enemy of all, including ourselves, as very appealing (and it's not just being on the top of the food chain kind of enemy that I mean, either).

Definitely could do better, but ultimately screwed up.

We certainly could do better, but we could do much much worse. The cold war proved that. MAD and no mushroom clouds, that's a sign of doing pretty well right there.

Actually, there have been mushroom clouds. Nuclear weapons are tested to make sure they work well and thus gauge their effectivity when it's time to use them against people. And, believe me, it's only a matter of time before they're used against people again. It's just the how and why of it that's more elusive.

I don't buy the whole "animals live in harmony with their environment" bit. Animals can and do act as greedy and selfish as they can. Given the chance, animals can and do overconsume their food sources until depletion, and even the most strongly social animals are still hostile to those outside of their own social group, fighting and sometimes killing each other.

No argument there, except for on the scale. Many creatures, including ourselves, cause problems and imbalances between themselves and others, sure. But there are also many creatures that help balance the environment out so no particular thing overwhelms the ecosystem, even if it's just how they evolved so they can survive while, at the same time, not be a depleted food source for other creatures. Thing is, humans don't fit anywhere in that regard; at least not anymore. And they have no natural inclination (that's apparent) that serves to help anything. Heck, humans don't even have much of anything in the way of natural defenses, further displaying just how much they are a deviant. And while deviancy isn't a bad thing in and of itself, humans impose themselves, not just in in certain places, but everywhere. They act as omnivores, commit such acts that mimick natural disasters or phenomenon (the list for those could go on forever), and they know many more methods of staying alive and thus further disrupt things with overpopulation. So, on the scale, humans, by far, surpass every creature in destruction, capability to disrupt and destroy, and can cause more disaster with their ignorance.

Humans also have the capacity to help the environment more than any other creature could ever hope to do, but that's just not the path that humans took; and I really doubt that they will ever do so.
