Well, I haven't seen that show, but cute was the objective here. So it looks like I succeeded.

Well, look at this- two images in as many days. This was a request which I volunteered to pick up, a rendering of Alex (newer Alex's) character in the Video Game Characters rpg. Her name, as you can see, is Marina, and her story is that she's the daughter of Mario and Princess Peach. You can get more information by reading her bio, in both the requests thread and the rpg sign-up page. But here she is.

Of course, you must first have the ability to draw...somewhat average drawings...
I'm good with my hands, and all, but, I just can't draw. I don't have the artistic bend that many people do ^_^

I've got an illustration of the moment that started it all in the works, as I think you know. Might try a later moment, too, if I can come up with an arrangement I like.

Yup, another bit o' art for you all. Again, this one pertains to forum events. These were actually a few weeks ago, but I only just now finished the image. You know the thread that spawned the "chibi Gothic Lolita Des" picture? Well, some other events took place in that thread, resulting in some, well, inter-character affection for a while.... Yeah, you guys get another "kiss" picture. Ah, well; at least those seem to be popular.... Here's a link to the page of the thread in question; the post that I'm capturing here is near the bottom.

I got a really strong mental image of the moment that got that road going not long after it happened, but it took a while to get the shading wrapped up and what not, what with moving and being out of town for a few days and all. Either way, though, here's the actual picture!

I did this as half general art, half fashion design; hence, the focus on displaying the outfits. This one has a rather more heightened "romantic" vibe than the others I've done, I feel, at least in part because of the way they're dressed, I think. Yes, I know I left out a couple details; he was supposed to be wearing a top hat, but it didn't "go" in the first draft, so I eliminated it. And the magical handbag would have been too cumbersome. But I hope you like it, even with the liberties I took. I have to say I do....

I'm inclined to agree. This one is significantly bettter than your previous; I suppose practice payed off, after all. The blushing, though, stands out from the rest as sort of...out of place; too prominent on the faces. Otherwise, everything is great! ^_^

Glad you guys like it! I do keep getting better at these, don't I? Practice does eventually make perfect, I guess. Even though I still have a long way to go until I get there. At least I have an audience who enjoys the journey.

I know it's been a while, but I've got another bit of art to share with you all. This is a character design I did for one of the universes I recently got into roleplaying with; specifically, the Yu-Shan universe. For those who don't know, this setting basically takes place in what amounts to a highly detailed afterlife (for more info, apply to join the group). This particular character is currently an amnesiac, finding herself in this world one day with basically nothing more than what you see in this picture; the clothes on her back, a bracelet with three charms on it (only two of which are visible) and a flute made out of crystal or heavy-duty glass. She couldn't remember how she got there, her name, anything. She gave herself the name Nanashi because it means "without a name." She's out to figure out who she used to be and how she got to where she is now. That's her in a nutshell. Either way, here's the image.

I have to say that her face looked better in the original drawing; in transition, it somehow came out looking slightly wider than it did in my first production. And the details on the flute don't show up so well at this small size. If anyone wants to see a zoomed-in version of that or the charms, just say the word, okay? In the meantime, this is the general look I was going for with the flute, using an exisiting glass flute as an example:

As you can see, it's a tricky design. I guess I went unnecessarily complicated, but I'd already submitted the bio by the time I got started on the picture.... So oh well. Hope at least a few people like this, at any rate. Hopefully I'll be sharing more art with you in the near future, one a character image from another universe who I'm waiting for the green light on before posting with, and a request from someone who still hasn't told me it's okay over two weeks later.

Okay, my last post went over like a lead balloon, having garnered absolutely no responses, but I'm going to go ahead and post another one anyway. This is another "Universe" character, this time one I'm playing for the Megatropolis setting. Her name is Elise Hamilton, and she's a 17-year-old exorcist traveling in search of her missing parents, a basically cheerful girl with a weakness for nice clothes, especially Gothic Lolita style, and a propensity for cross motifs (despite not being particularly religious). She was actually inspired by a result from one of those generator things- you know, plug in your name, favorite color, etc. and it uses the assembled letters to give you a random result. Here's the one that spawned her:

Race: Human
Hair Style: Blonde and fluffy
Type of eyes: Sparkling blue
Attitude: Sweet and loveable
Powers/Weapons: Exorcism, and your weapon is a Book
Clothing: Skirts and frilly things

I don't know about anyone else, but to me, this says "Gothic Lolita with a cross motif." That's where I got that design aspect. (No, the book is not a Bible.) The rest of the character filled out from there. And here she is!

Just becaause no one responds doesn't mean no one's enjoying your work ^_^ I normally don't critique because some words can't express things I might feel for a peice of art and if those words aren't found I don't want to make it seem like I had nothing to say. I live through such droughts because I keep track of how many times my caption and art thread has been viewed and assume people enjoy what I'm doing XD

That out of the way, I've always enjoyed your art, I just wish I would take the time to join the universes your recent art inspired so I might know a little more about them.
