An Empty Field

Mitchell looked over the Rheiard he had borrowed, and got inside the bubble. He checked the controls, and made sure everything was ready. These things traveled fast, faster than he could fly. Which means that they could be used as weapons, as fighter jets. Which means fighter jet pilots would be needed. He hopped in, and took off. A bit too fast.

Unfortunately, even training in Ace Combat series did not grant Mitchell an experience in the most important area of any fighter pilot. Actually getting used to going faster than sound.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Fortunately, he was mainly just doing loops. Still, he was having trouble STOPPING doing loops.

[Helel]

And boy did Mitchell take off! His yelling couldn't be heard until well after he had passed because he was going so fast. Inbetween screams however, he notices one of the glowing panels in the cockpit which seems to be the speed control...

If Mitchell wasn't yelling for his dear afterlife while he was doing the loops, he would be able to observe the vast landscape over which he was flying. Beinf near the East Pole, grassy areas and lightly wooded forests seemed to stretch on into the horizon. Inbetween those vast stretches of plains and wood lands are the dwellings of literally billions of souls, much like Mitchell, and in a few areas, the population dense capitals of the various states and divisions of the East.

But Mitchell was screaming for his afterlife, and wouldn't possibly be able to absorb all of this information. But he did notice that ever important speed control panel in front of him...

(FYI, anyone is free to join in if they'd like. This is for some character development and such, so pop in as you see fit. A main Yu-Shan RP is in the works.)

[Raleigh]

Having arrived in the East section of Yu-Shan, Jason wondered what all that screaming from above was about. "Hm.. seems a bit more lively than the north lands that I was 'living' in before heading this way." He looks up to watch the out of control Rheiard flying in loops. "I suppose they don't know how to fly one? I wonder if anyone would mind if I tried to stop it." Looks around for some sort of communications console so he can contact the person in the Rheiard to help them stop the out of control flight. Having just learned how to manage one of those things himself before arriving here, he hopes he can put it in terms the pilot understands.

As Jason looks around, he notices that the field is relatively... well, empty. However, he does notice that there seems to be some gear that has been collected together... Maybe whoever's up there flying might have left something in the gear that Jason could use to communicate with the pilot.

(Note to players: I made a slight change to the Rheiards and their availability. From where this is going, it seems most likely that Mitchell would be renting the Rheiard since they are fairly expensive, even in Yu-Shan)

Mitchell grabs the speed control panel hard, mainly out of panic, since he doesn't have G-Force to worry about, and pulls it down to near the minimum. Unfortunately, he forgot about a little thing called "Engine Stall"

In mid-air, at the top of a loop, the Rheiard goes from 'flying' to 'not flying'...and then from 'not flying' to 'falling'.

[Raleigh]

Jason finds some communications equipment and tries to use it. Hopefully it will get to whoever is in the ship. If not, well judging from how things look he might want to start running soon. "Hello, can you hear me up there? You need to stabalize the craft. Hello?"

"Wouldn't turning the speed down stabalize it?"

[Helel]

The energized engine of the Rheiard continues to stutter under Mitchell as he converses with the unknown voice from below. However, as he looks at the various controls, one of the glowing buttons above him is designated as "Emergency Force Recast."

From the ground, Jason can see the faint puffs of magic sparks from the back end of the Rheiard as he begins to fall more and more quickly towards the ground... This may not be good... Should he consider calling for help? The equipment seems to have a Magi Uplink...

[Raleigh]

"Do you see a button on the panel? Should say something about an emergency." Looks at the equipment he is holding and tries to see if there is a way to get it to contact a control tower so they can take remote control of the craft before they have an accident. Of course, while doing all of this he takes a slight jog out of the area he believes the craft will crash.

Mitchell shrugs. "Well, when in doubt, press the big red button..." He presses the 'Emergency Force Recast' button.

[Funny Hat + Funny Accent]

*Tiberius wanders onto the scene late, compared to the others, and confused.*

What is going on now?

[Raleigh]

"It would seem whoever is in that vehicle has lost control. I was trying to tell them how to stabalize while also working on how to get a control tower to possible take remote control of it so as to avoid an accident."

[Helel]

As Mitchell presses the button... the various lights inside the Rheiard turn off- completely. However, shortly thereafter, the magic recasts itself in the Rheiards magi-engine, and it suddenly hurtles off aff again- considerably slower, and easier to control now.

Down at the ground, Jason and Tiberius have a moment of panic for three seconds as the Rheiard's engine goes completely out. But as soon as panic is about to take them, the entire craft glows with white energy, reenergized, and blasts off back into the sky.

[Raleigh]

"Glad I am already dead or that would have given me a heart attack." Tries the communication device again. "Hello, pilot? Are you still awake up there?"

[Chibi MitchellTF]

"Yeah...It looks like I enabled easy mode. I think I can try to get this in for a landing now."

He steers it around, and tries to slowly bring it in for a landing.
