The Forest of Teeth

[Empusa Sesshi]

The leaves rustle and the creature is revealed! Slightly smaller then the average human man, it's covered in bristly gray fur. It has a narrow muzzle filled with razor sharp teeth, two larger fangs in the front. It looks vaguely like a squirrel...but instead of a big bushy tail it has a hissing cobra on it's rear! It snarls and it's tail snaps at the trio.

[SweetSophia]

"Ok, I'm fairly sure that's not a normal beastiary." Teras says, pointing out the obvious, "I'm going to try to talk to it, but be prepared to fight."

Teras makes a second attempt at communicating with the creature through his alledged lingual abillity.
"We come in peace. We heard the animals were in trouble" He tries to say.

[Stellar]

Marisa grips her weapons and begins mumbling to herself. She uses the bokuto in her left hand and grazes her arm with the tip while waiting to know if the squirrel monster thing was going to calm down. She softly tapped the tips of her blades together and continued speaking unaudibly.

If anyone was close enough to her to notice they would notice her mumbling was more of a chant and that her wooden swords were beggining to vibrate. While continuing the low chanting she thought to herself, Please work... What element am I even useing... With a quick blink Marisa glanced down at her bokutos, Wind.. Wind isn't too bad.. I just hope it doesn't fizzle out before I strike, if we have to attack.

Marisa had many troubles durring her self taught training controlling the effects of her blood slash and how long she could hold it. Maybe it was her her lack of knowledge in magic and elements, but she never had enough time to devote to too much magic study. So she simply learned how to envoke the spell and how to reinforce it with her blood.

[Musashi]

Ria sniffs. "I would not. What you saw in the tavern was just a fluke!"

I think they're catching on to me. If I screw up much more, they'll ditch me for sure!

So Ria concentrates as hard as she can, ready to prepare a spell.

[Empusa Sesshi]

It doesn't seem too inclined to chat...either too enraged or simply incapable of talking back...it leaps at Teras, clawing and biting!

[Stellar]

At that Marisa charged forward, lept into the air and brought both of her bokuto's down hard at the squirrel. If she were to land the hit and if she hadn't lost the magic in her blades for the strike a gust would hit the monster.

[Musashi]

Ria begins to chant and forms a ball of light between her hands.

Yes, yes! This is just how it should be! I can do this!

Her chanting increases in volume, and finally she lets the ball of POWER go! It flies at the squirrel... and then turns back around and hits her instead with a KABOOM. X___x

[SweetSophia]

Teras jumps backwards and up onto a tree branch clutching his wound. He pulls out his crossbow, pulls two arrows and tries to aim at the squirrel's legs.

"Fine. I tried to be diplomatic, but if you want to play like that..."

Terras waited for a clear shot, released the taut string and prayed the arrows hit their intended targets.

[Empusa Sesshi]

The squirrel...er...thing is much faster then it looks, dodging Marisa's blows by zipping to the side, effectively evading Teras' arrows at the same time. It er...doesn't seem very concerned with Ria at the moment. It's snake tail shoots forward at Marisa spitting a glob of acid!

[Stellar]

"Drat!" Marisa cries upon striking the ground creating a small indent from her magic. She jumps to the left quickly and lunges forward striking the blob of acid with one of her blades to split it in two and fly past her. She continues her charge realizing the acid was already eating away her right bokuto and strikes at the snake.

[Musashi]

Ria lies on the ground, drooling, swirly-eyed, little rainbow colored sparks flying off her body. Each spark grows hands and feet, and a little sword and shield, and they come together to ATTACK the squirrel thingy!

[SweetSophia]

"It's too fast and too angry, I can't get in a good shot and I'd get murdered in melee. I need to slow it down, but..."

Teras gets an idea in his head. Rummaging through his backpack, he pulls out a jar of homemade monster bait and tosses some onto the ground a few feet shy of his treetop perch hoping it'll draw the monster.

[Empusa Sesshi]

The beast is a bit focused on Marisa to notice the hurled food...it snaps it's jaws, clamping onto her ankle, not biting through her boot yet though. The little sparkles stabbing at it are barely scratching.

[Stellar]

Useing the blade that still had acid on it she began hacking at the beasts neck (is the snake tail thing biting me or the squirrel part?) hopeing the acid might get through its skin.

She then stuck her other blade in the beasts mouth trying to get the wooden sword down its throat to gag it, "Get off danget!"

[Musashi]

Ria rolllllls around on the ground for a little while. Why? Who knows. She's Ria. But it seems to have helped, as she scrambles up and runs at the beast, flailing her Stick of.. Stick-ness around wildly.

"GET BACK! DOWN, BOY! DOWN!"
