Everything has to be related or they don't fit into the system, and thus don't exist. By being the same, they can be different: because they can connect or conflict, and thus express individuality while, at the same time, being a part of a whole. Even if there were two snowflakes that were identical in every way possible, they'd still be different because they're effecting their own space; one may land on someone's nose while the other falls to the ground.
So, yes, a constant change. I imagine that the universe is best described as an oxymoron. ;p In that way, like attracts like. If it didn't, the universe wouldn't be able to sustain itself, because of all of the unique factors beyond two opposing forces. By making everything different, they all share something in common no matter what, and thus belong together. If it were strictly opposites attracting, the universe would be quite different. Like attracting like can extend into anything, which is why we have such a plethora of different lifestyles that people have, even beyond bi/hetero/homosexual.
While the third option in the poll works, I think the second is closer to the core, or the core. While the universe gives us possibilities, those possibilities can be harnessed and repeated because the same conditions produce the same results; not because the conditions oppose, but rather because they can find something in common and work together to produce that result again and again when the same conditions are applied.
I wonder why I spend my time thinking this kind of stuff. ^_^;
