Okay, recently a couple people have asked to see a picture of me, so here's one for anyone interested. This isn't quite a typical representation of myself, as it was taken during my brother's wedding in June. So naturally my hair is different (typically straighter), I'm not wearing make-up (can't stand the stuff- ick), and I certainly don't wear formal gowns! Besides, my hair looks more to the blonde side of things (different lighting makes it look that or redder, conversely). This is nominally better than most other shots me, but still nothing special. The lower half of my face looks weird, at least to my mind. I hate my chin. But now that you've been warned, here it is.

Whoa! Sans the glasses, you could be a dead ringer for someone that I know! @_@ And, might I add that she and I get along very well whenever I actually get to go visit her family. I can see what you're worried about, and that's understandable. You can change yourself if and when you want to, as much as you can, until you're happy. But, like her, I'll like ya despite how you look. ^_^ *Pokes ya* Because you're filled with friendly goodness! Perhaps too much! ^o^

Well, at least it's good to know I resemble someone you like! Better than an enemy. And thanks for not sugar-coating. Everyone I know in real life tries to tell me I'm more attractive than I think I am. Good to see someone, at least, tells me the truth. Oh, and those shoes aren't sneakers, unfortunately. They're just white dress flats. Which came off as soon as the reception got started.... I hate dress shoes. Ugh.

Well, if they're flats, then they could be even slicker! X3 Yeah, don't like dress shoes. I like nice, comfy stuff for my feet. Around the house, I prefer to wear zori. But that's mostly because the floor is dirty with who-knows-what.

Well, I think that you look fine, but there's nothing that can be done about a person's self-standards except by the person themselves. I can understand not being satisfied, since I'm not satisfied with myself either. XD And the person that you remind me of also isn't satisfied. Maybe I can find a picture of her to show you... It's not really a dead ringer, but there are similarities aplenty. Just remember that we take you as you are, not how we want you to be. At least, I think I can speak for everyone... ^o^;

Well you certainly are larger than i had thought. I had imagined something along the lines of the fiancé of one of my friends who isn't exactly the smallest person you can find. However it is not as if you are hideous according to established norms, though you would not be called attractive according to them either. However i have personally known who were just as large who had no problem attracting people, both for long-term relationships and for more casual sex. Behaviour and attitude is at least as important as looks when it comes to attracting others i have found. Still i see your point about how your looks can be a hindrance.

Also i would like to express that i have in no way meant to insult you with any of what i said, i merely tried to give you my opinion without sugar coating it, as that is one thing that almost never helps. If i did insult you despite that you have my apologies.

**shrug** Well, I have to admit that it's never nice to hear someone say "wow, you're larger than I expected," but by the same token, I wanted an honest assessment. And I got it. I think the people who know me look at me through rose-colored glasses. They see something nicer than the rest of the world does. So perhaps such a cool assessment does hurt a little, at some fundamental level of human instinct, but it's no less than I expected, to be honest. Harsh honesty can be better than sugar-coated lies. Can't say it makes me happy, per say, but it does verify what I've always believed. So now you know that when I say how unappealing I am, it's not just a low self-image. It's the truth.
