"We're getting closer. They've most likely made camp." Teras whispers to the others, twitching her ears at the sound, "I'm going to try and get the drop on them from above so we can find out who or what they are."

Teras, now a bit more experienced at using this body, leaps into the nearest tree and starts following the smoke through the canopy.

Marisa continues twards the area while Teras leaps from tree to tree.

Ria releases Marisa from his grip and skitters into the trees after Teras, feeling strangely more comfortable in the trees than on the ground. He leaps along after Teras, chittering quietly.

The strange trio pushes through some underbrush, and sees before them a small village! Moving about it are animal/human hybrids of all sorts, seems you found the missing people.

Marisa, alone since her companions are tree hopping, walks into the village. She had forgotten the task at hand.. since she really didn't know the full reason for them being in the forest, so she begins searching for a place to buy new swords.

Teras stopped in a tree overlookind the little village. She looked around, puzzled and not quite sure of what to think.

"Alright, this I did not expect. Methinks the inhabitants may know more about this curious affliction." She said, sliding out of the tree onto the ground.

Ria skitters out of the trees and comes up behind Teras, where he hides, chittering nervously.

"W-well.. if they try to hurt us, I'll turn them all into acorns!"

A slender woman, looking like a blend of squirrel and human drops in front of Marisa before she can enter. She eyes her suspiciously. "You're not welcome here."

"Ohh.. Um well I have friends with me," Marisa looks up in the trees for Ria or Teras, "They both got turned into half animal people... And before we got here they decided to go tree climbing." Marisa scratches her head not quite seeing either of them and turns back to the woman, "Uh... I'm really only here to buy new swords... I kinda forgot what we came to the forest for intentionally ^_^;"

Teras puts a hand to her head and walks up to the pair from the base of a nearby tree.

"We came to find out what was accosting the wildlife and mutating them. You wouldn't by any chance know what's behind these sudden mutations?" Teras asked and explained.

She glances at the trio for a few moments. "Alright...you don't look like the evil men anyway...just behave, some of the other villagers are very umm...angry I suppose."

"Evil men? You know who's been doing this?" Teras asks excitedly, bouncing up and down a little before she realizes she's bouncing.

"Er... we do happen to be able adventurers. Perhaps we could persuade these men to reverse and stop this nonsense if you have any information that could help us." She says, a bit more serious.

Marisa smiles, "Thank you, let me know if you need me Teras~" Marisa quickly strides into the village looking around for a weapon shop .. or something close enough to one.

Ria starts skittering around cautiously, nervously sniffing at things and people. It seems the chipmunky-ness is affecting his BRAINS somewhat. :O
