I live with a Santee Indian chief?

Yup. If I ever end up mentioning that, the reply usually has a fair amount of skepticism or questioning tone (for the latter, as if it were weird). I finally mentioned it to the only person that I voice chat with ('cause I've known them for almost two decades, and they pestered me into it), and he had paused before saying, "What?" I thought it was quite comical, coming from him.

Anyway, yeah, I live with a chief, of the Santee Indian Nation of South Carolina. Not to be confused with the Santee Indian Organization; they are a new (about a year old or so), bogus group, but still got recognized by whatever. I dunno how that stuff works. Anyway, the chief tends to travel to a few other states on occassion as well, for Santee stuff. As for whate business, well, I don't know; I don't really pay attention to much of what goes on. ^_^;

If you feel like shaving off twenty years of your life by coming into contact with my mother, go right ahead. I loath phones. I avoid touching them as much as possible, much less answer them. <.<;

I've know a bit about the tribal games played out there, and how many groups are fraudulent or part fraudulent.

1) Don't get involved in the slightest.

2) Don't be surprised when he's arrested. It'll take a few years, but he will get caught.

3) Accept no gifts, at all. If you take anything it should only be payments in CHECK for an actual service, have the service written on the check and pay your taxes on it. When they freeze this guy's assets and take back his goods they're going to go looking for any gifts he's given to anyone including you guys.

As far as I know, William's been a chief for a while, since he inherited it, like his father before him. (That sounded so like Star Wars terminology. <.<; ) Of course, I don't even know how to check on the history of the tribe, perhaps by how long it has been government sanctioned. *Shrugs* But I do know that he gets involved with a lot of burial grounds, and on occassion gets involved with a museum or college/university (I don't know the difference).

I was talking about the Santee Indian Organization. ;p That one came about around a year or so ago, and William had to take legal action to change their name to what is it now. Other than that, I don't really know any real details... But I know there were other problems with that group that were worked out.
