Stellar is unique because of her eyes. It's the main point I try to describe when I can't show someone a picture of her. Remeber, Stellar isn't human, so she doesn't abide by normal rules. I actually love doing eyes, but I don't wanna do something to Stellar that doesn't exsist.

And thankies everyone ^_^ As for the background, I don't see that happening... I'm not too worried about the outline either, I could probly clean it up really easily if I felt like it... wich I don't =p

P-tan, I'm working on it, for some reason I'm not too happy with it. But if you're really ancy to see it I can scan what I have right now, just gimme a half hour or so to ink it.

Well, I was offering that more as a general tip than as a specific thing for just this character. I think this is the first Photoshopped image of yours I've seen, after all. And if she's not human, off-beat eyes is indeed a good way of indicating that. :) Cleaning up the edges of a picture is also easy. In Photoshop proper, after you've saved it as a Photoshop file but before you start coloring, set it on "normal" (as I'm sure you know, "darken" is the best default setting for general coloration, as it doesn't cover up the black lines). From there, pick white, and just color over the speckles and fuzzy spots and whatever, and you have nice clean edges. Heck, you can even tweak images in-program that way. I've used it to slightly rearrange fingers or whatever, on the biggest setting. There's another thing- scan your image bigger than you want the finished result to be. I usually scan it about four times as big, and work at it on a view setting of 50%, saving the full-sized view for small highlighty type things, like eye shines and metallic effects and so forth. It's easy enough to size it down right before you save the final copy. I typically do my image clean-up in Paint, though, using the eraser tool; I scan it into there initially because my scanner defaults to bitmaps, and importing a bitmap directly into Photoshop for some reason offers you fewer options for what to save it as. Whereas in Paint, I can save it as a jpeg in the interim; for some reason, a converted jpeg file gives you the most options, in-program. Odd, but that's how it works for me. Sorry to babble at you like this. I just want you to be able to do as much with your art as possible. :)

I use multiply on the main image. There's only a small difference between darken and multiply on this particular image, and multiply makes me happier lol.

And my mom's scanner actually scans images like double the size they normally are. I find that a little annoying though lol but it's helpful sometimes.

Many scanners will default to bigger. And heck, make it bigger still, if you can. It's SO much easier to color and fill in all the little corners and edges and what not. And it's invaluable for shading. Trust me, you can be a lot more precise when you have a bigger image to work with. There are many things I would simply not have been able to shade or highlight properly if I couldn't size up the scan as much as I do.

Last thoughts of a marching figment

Postby Stellar » Fri Dec 01, 2006 2:49 am

I thought a few of you might enjoy this last tidbit before I have absolutely no internet.
This is my cleric NayrusLove from Rose online. And I just realized I never showed the sketch of my raider Hopeisnowhere.

I'll miss you MSF.

Beyond asked for it in his... Beyondly way, so here is

Adventures of the Bell #2!

I hate how much I know about Taco Bell Xl I have this little comic planned out for at least 12 strips. #3 is one frame from being finished, #4 has some work to do then it needs to be inked, and I have the dialouge for 5 and 6 written out and an overall 'plot' that should last to the dozen mark.

WHY? Gah... At least I get to make fun of Taco Bell through doing these ^_^

You know... Saturday night, and all Sunday, I worked on AotB, and it's now going to be 32 strips long -_- with room for a sequal...

#3 is done, I just need to go to Kinko's and get it saved. And #4 and 5 are coming along. The plot is so obsurd -_- XD I can't stop laughing when I'm drawing though. I hope more MSFers start looking at AotB or I might not finish. Please! make me finish it so I know that I can complete long term things!

And thanks Guen. I'd never thought of Robyn as the protagonist till now, and she definately is the one who sets the plot in motion XD

Ah, the "joys" of customer service. Sad is perhaps that people like that actually exist.... Cute strip, though.
