Actually, I thought they used 緑 (midori) to mean "green?"

Would celestial and empyrean also have the same definition as stellar?

I don't think empyrean would.

stel·lar
adj. 1. Of, relating to, or consisting of stars. 2. like a star, as in brilliance, shape, etc. 3. pertaining to a preeminent performer, athlete, etc.

ce·les·tial
adj. 1. pertaining to the sky or visible heaven. 2. pertaining to the spiritual or invisible heaven; heavenly; divine 3. of or pertaining to celestial navigation 4. (initial capital letter) of or pertaining to the former Chinese Empire or the Chinese people
noun 1. an inhabitant of heaven 2. (initial capital letter) a citizen of the Celestial Empire

They're certainly close, but stellar is more physical with it's definition in using outer space and the stars. Celestial is more focused on the sky, not the specific wonderous stars that make up a night sky.

em·py·re·an
noun 1. the highest heaven, supposed by the ancients to contain the pure element of fire 2. the visible heavens; the firmament
adj. see empyreal

Wow, I actually didn't know the definition of empyrean. I have to say I'm supprised how close it is to celestial, but it's further from stellar, since it's more specifically about heavans. (Don't get me wrong, outerspace can be considdered the heavans, but in these sences, the definitions don't match the specific "of, or pertaining to the stars" that I associate the meaning of stellar to)

star = hoshi = 星

if you want to be fancy you can always use the filled in and blank stars, like this:

★☆

edit: for good measure, i'm adding a bit more, so you can mix and match i guess.

sky = sora = 空
heaven = tengoku = 天国

here's a good translation for empyrean:

tenjoukai = 天上界

hope this helps you, thanks for defining it
