Black Jack doesn't meet Genno's and Elise's eyes, and in fact turns away from it. "The stress from the hang-gliding was probably what did it. The nerve damage was probably relatively minor, designed to fail in a high stress situation. Whoever did it was a genius. The blow would reduce the opponent's effectiveness, and hurt them. If he removed the knife, he would bleed to death. If he didn't, the knife would dig in as he moved. In your case, you removed the knife, or bullet, and the wound was cauterized somehow. It's light, but enough to stop the bleeding. I can't figure out what would cause that kind of heat, though. Especially without injuring you."
He puts his hands to his eyes, and rubs them. When his fingers move, they are slightly moist. "Who did this wound to you, anyway? It's a level of precision that I can admire, especially since it was done by a single blow."
