A nondescript house, on a cliffside outside city limits

Oh. She seems visibly sad. "Well, don't suppose you know where my friends are? In fact, you were with us on that blimp." She thinks for a minute. "Are Genno and Elise okay, and where are they."

[Xiao]

"Oh yes," Xiao said in response, "They are doing fine, they are at a house about a mile or so away, if you would like I can take you to them."

She nods to Xiao, and follows him to the house.

Meanwhile, Genno wakes up, and finds that his arm is back to full capacity, and has been sewed up. Black Jack is washing his hands of the blood, while Pinoko has ran off to her room.

Pinoko knocks on the door, and smiles at Elise. "So, whatdcha' find? The advance copy of Twelve Kingdoms? Black Jack got that for saving the manager's life. You see, this CEO made a bomb shelter that was everything proof, earthquakes, bombs, fire, the works. Problem is, he accidentially locked them all in! And, while nothing could get IN, it was equally hard to get everyone OUT. Black Jack managed to find a way, while they promised him millions upon billions of dollars. After he got out, the TokyoPop guy was the only one who kept his promise, for "Free Books for Life."

[Mistress Guendolen]

Elise looked up from the book. "That's... certainly an interesting story," she said. Interesting? An understatement, that. "Though I can't help but wonder how a doctor, of all people, managed to figure out a way to free all those people...." She stood up, setting the book aside. ""How did the surgery go? Is Genno doing all right? When can I see him?"

Pinoko smiles. "It went fine. He should be up and about in a bit. As for how he got them free, if I recall, they had to cut the wire to the door, which triggered a failsafe causing it to open. Problem is, they only had three scapels to cut with, so he had to locate the wire by thumping on it, like finding a heart."

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Oh. I... guess doctor training can be more versatile than I'd previously thought.... I'm so glad to know Genno's doing just fine. Just- let me know when I can go see him, okay?" After all that's happened today, I guess I just need to so for myself....

"You could probably see him now, actually. As for doctor training being versitile. There's a REASON my husband gets paid his dues. After all, he made me my body!"

She twirls a little, and heads towards the door.

[Mistress Guendolen]

"I can see him now?!" She actually bounced a bit. "Okay, just show me where!" Eagerly, Elise headed for the door- but then the other part of the statement came through. "Wait a sec- he made you your body? If you don't mind my asking, however did that work?" Maybe I'll find out how things came to be so strange here, with this this girl.

PInoko's eyes widen, and she looks down a bit. "I was a twin. But, I didn't develop right. I was absorbed into my sister's body. I was loged in her, wrapped in a murky liquid. For eighteen years I was in there, A teratogenius cystoma. I knew everything she did, I had a brain, and as she grew, i developed more. Arms..." She wiggles her fingers. "Legs", She walks down the stairs. "And organs." She thumps her chest. "I just didn't have a body. So he made me one. He removed me from my sister, and he gave my a life. But..."

She bows her head at the bottom of the stairs. "He's not God. My body isn't like other people's. I don't grow. I'm like Pinnochio, I guess..."

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Oh." I... guess this explains a lot.... "I- I'm sorry. For prying, that is. Please forgive me for invading on something so private." What else do you say to a thing like this? I wish there was something I could do for her... she looks so sad....

"It's okay. It's just something I have to get used to. Anyway, here we are!" She passes by the lobby where Xiao and Neko have just arrived, and opens the door to where Black Jack has finished working on Gennosuke. In short, the party is now all back together.

[Mistress Guendolen]

Elise did a half-double-take. "Hey, I thought you said you weren't coming back here! And- Neko? I won't ask you how you got twigs and leaves in your hair, because I'm so glad to know you came down okay! This is Pinoko, wife of the doctor who took care of Genno. Pinoko, this is our new friend Neko. The other one involved in the... debacle that resulted in the injury." Then her eye caught a familiar figure in the next room over.... Her smile got even wider. She hurried forward, then came to a stop just through the doorway, not sure if she should be coming in there yet or not. Still, she couldn't hide the glowing smile at the sight of Gennosuke. "Hi...." Why- why do I suddenly feel so shy, again?...

[Xiao]

"This one was worried about you," Xiao said, "I was just returning to bring her back here, so if you'll excuse me..." as he finished he walked back out the door, moving his staff into the correct position, and began to fly back to an area near the apartments.

Neko reaches a hand towards Xiao. "But, we might need your help. The Neko-Jin are gonna steal a nuke, and use it to get an EMP Pulse so they can take over the city, and I got enough info that we can maybe stop them!"

[Mistress Guendolen]

Elise whirled around from the doorway. "Steal a nuke?" she gasped. "What on earth for? If they want to take over the city, they can't exactly drop a bomb on it and destroy it! Or are they planning on using it as a threat, or something?"
