The Nuclear Base/Power Plant.

Xiao's treatment works as expected. (Just to verify.)

Rose coughs, and seems to be breathing. She's alive, her eyelids are fluttering. She looks blankly towards Tetsuo, and stares blnkly at her. "Eh? Good spotter." She begins to look a bit better, and moves to get up, but screams and lies back down. "Except ya broke my ribs...ow..."


Meanwhile, Teacher's pet ducks under the leaping kick, rolling to get out of range. As she does so, while Genno is still in mid-air, she throws a pair of scissors straight into Genno's butt-cheek, or rather, where his butt and leg connect.

[Mistress Guendolen]

It took a moment for Elise to realize what was happening. She had been, well, taking in the fact that the threads of green light had started to staunch the bleeding, and she was feeling nominally more mobile.... She looked up to where she had seen Xiao look a moment before- and then saw his own apparent sorrow. She dropped down to kneel in front of him, resting a hand on his shoulder. "Turn around," she said to him quietly. "I think... that is, I don't know what saddened you, not exactly, but- but I don't think it was as bad as you feared.... And- and thank you for helping me. It's enough to keep me going. You don't need to apologize...."

Tetsuo had moved back from Rose when she saw her move, as if Rose had suddenly become a fragile artifact. But when she fully realized that Rose was alive, she seemed to laugh and sob at the same time, each taking turns with each partition of breath. But the sobbing finally won out and she covered her face, relieved but still feeling bad overall, the emotional overload finally finding a release.

"I'm... So... Sorry...!" She managed to gasp out between sobs, apologizing for the terrible job she'd done, as both a spotter and as a resuscitator (what with breaking Rose's ribs in the process).

[Xiao]

Xiao looked over to see Rose stirring once more. But she was... oh dang, I need to remember that there are solutions outside of magic. he thought before giving out a relieved sigh, "That's good," he said, quickly wiping off his eye, "I can't stand death, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself." He kept his eyes set towards the two cat girls in case they began to shoot at them again.

Rose smiles. "Don't cry. Ya did good, kid. Ya couldn't have smacked life inta me if ya didn't hit with all your might, right? After all, ya can't make an...egg...thingy without breaking a few eggs, rahght?" She laughs and winces at once. "Ya're a good spotter, ya looked out fer me when ah couldn't. Now, get in, help us win, and...maybe peg the sucker who gave me a freakin' heart attack! At least, ah think a heart attack is right..."

She reaches into her belt, and hands Tetsuo a plain old pistol, and some extra clips. "Just cock this thing here, shoot till y'all be out of ammo, then press this to ditch the old stuff. Put in a new clip, then repeat."

By the time Tetsuo calms down until she's only sniffling, she tentatively accepts the gun and extra clips.

"But... I can't leave you here like this..." She argued softly, not willing to tell her that she didn't want to shoot anyone.

[Mistress Guendolen]

Elise nodded quietly. "I understand that," she said, voice soft. "I... I feel much the same way. Maybe it's- things I've seen- but I would always want to try to find another way...."

Xiao looked over to see Rose stirring once more. Genno whirls around in mid-air, taking the scissors to the top of the thigh. He roared in pain, and that caused the fire to burst from him in a nice 10 foot or so sphere. Anything close to it probably just got horribly burnt and melted... Then he falls to one knee, panting.

Teacher's Pet, having completed her roll, leaps backwards with blinding speed, throwing a few pairs of scissors and some pencils just to keep Genno honest. Less than her usual barrage, however.

A few molten bits of metal hit the ground, and some ash brushes past Genno. Twelve feet away, sweat drops off the brow of Teacher's Pet, the heat turning it to steam before it hits the ground.

Rose smiles at her friend. "Don't worry, I'm the original good time girl. A Vision from coast to coast. I'm Yankee Rose, and nothing can stop me." About then, she notices Xiao watching and sticks her tongue out at him.

Tetsuo closed her eyes and thought about it. Was Rose just putting on an act? That could possibly be the case... Still, there was the matter of what was going on inside of the power plant, and she wanted to do something about that as well. Hmmmm...

"Alright... Just have Scientia pick you up, okay?"

After a little hesitation, she stood up and ran toward the west entrance into the base/power plant, speeding by Xiao and Elise on her way. Since she didn't have anywhere to hold the extra clips other than her one hand, at least one clip fell from where she grasped the lot of them to her side.

[Mistress Guendolen]

Elise stared in amazement at the speeding Tetsuo... and then in even more amazement at the dropped clip of bullets. "That- that means that she- all this time- and I thought maybe- I'm surprised she didn't just go ahead and give me the cat-bite instead of doing the asking bit first!... And- and, oh, heck, I think that's the same way Genno went! I- I have to get over there- somehow- I can't let anything-" she managed to drag herself to her feet by leaning heavily on Xiao's shoulder, and then limped at Tetsuo as fast as she could, which, she admittedly deep inside, was not very fast at all....

[Teddy]

Genno panted, looking at TP. "Huh. You're pretty good... But we're both slowing down. We're both... Not worth killing anymore, y'know?" He struggled to his feet. "Why do you want the ENTIRE world to be the same? It's boring that way. Differences make life much more interesting."

[Mitera Nikkou]

(OOC: Now that Genno's started a conversation, I'll wait for Tetsuo to arrive on that scene when they've conversed enough. Just so you know, Gwen, so Elise doesn't somehow manage to keep up with Tetsuo. XD Although that would be funny... Might mean Tetsuo bit you in secret. ;p)

OOC: Oh, don't worry, I wasn't going to catch up any time soon. Unless some extenuating circumstances happen, she's not going to move fast enough for that. It's all okay- I can wait for other posts.

Teacher's Pet smiles at him, and rubs the stump of her arm. Her voice has a calm tone, almost like that of a preacher giving a normal everyday sermon. "We won't make everyone the same. Are all the members of your family the same? Brothers can be polar opposites, but they are still bound by blood. We have differences. I'm different from Rose, Roseis different from Scientia, and there's nobody on Earth quite like Catnip. Testuo-chan is the most unique of us all. White, black, yellow, we're all still family." Her face twists, and it goes fire-and-brimstone. "Nobody has to be beaten, shoved into lockers, looked upon with scorn, hated for being an egghead..." She slumps down on one knee. "And those people will learn, if I have to drill it into their heads, literally. This is the only time I've had a family. I fight to protect it. With hands drenched in blood." And her left hand was drenched in blood, the wound wasn't completely cauterized, and just a bit was leaking.
