No. There are many ways to create a fireball. There is alchmy, summoning(which is stupid), and there is using your inner power to form one using your body heat.

[Raleigh]

Raleigh:"How about channeling through a symbol? Or even better, suppose your opponent is immune to magic, how can you still attack with magic without having repercussions? Say they are immune to all magic, but weak to water and you are fighting upon a rooftop or near a dam?"

[Tala]

If my oppnent was immune to magic. was weak to water, and I was near a dam, I would break the dam, hold my oppnent in place untill the last second and the i would let go and teleport away.

[Raleigh]

Raleigh: "Good answer. Okay now for any of you that might not have been following, our friend here is correct on there being multiple ways to cast a spell, almost all of them are this way. To demonstrate, we have us a wall of water over here. If you guys would please." Naro stands up and holds up a talisman that then disappears and fire blasts into the wall, followed by Shara standing up and a symbol appearing before her hand resulting in another blast. After these two take there seat, Ebony stands up and simply moves her hands in a pattern before a slightly larger fire blasts into the test wall. After she sits, Kayote stands and simply mutters a short incantation resulting in a similar effect, only his being bigger. Raleigh: "As you can see, almost any method you have ever heard of will work. I personally want all of you trained up to the point, though, that all it takes is will alone to cast your spells." The wall of water is hit by a large fire and completely evaporates after he says this. "So, is everyone ready to get their rooms and prepare for a wonderful day of classes tomorrow?"

[Mistress Guendolen]

Wonderful day of classes?... Not if people continue to play mean pranks and be jerks for no good reason. Maybe I'll be lucky and get a private room.... I thought a roommate would be fun, at first, but now I'm worried I'll get some snob who'll expect me to run and fetch things for her and use my clothes for washcloths or whatever. Still, she attentively nodded, watching those on the stage. Part of her was still hoping that this experience wouldn't be as bad as it was looking it would be.... It would be nice to make some friends. But if nothing else, I'll have lots of time to study.... I am here to learn, after all.

Dorm rooms. So I will be sharing space with a weakling every night. This might get interesting.

*Kai disolves into the shadows*

Ricky watches Kai fade into the shadows. "Now that's creepy, as for dorm rooms...who's sharing with whom?" Ricky said.

[Tala]

*Kai appeared in his dorm room waiting for his room mate while hidding in front of the door with the light off*

(Poof) Hey, Anyone Know What year it is? OOO what do we have here?
Some sort of school for magic, by the looks of it. Well, lets go.(Checks off As few classes as possible, like the required fields, and conjuration)

I followed the directions to my dorm, i entered and it was all dark
"hello...?"

Thora got her room number and key and made her way up to the designated floor. Apparently their things had already been placed in their rooms for them. It'll be just my luck, whoever I'm rooming with will have decided to have some "fun" and thrown my stuff everywhere or just taken over the closet and given me one tiny corner or something. With some nervousness, she opened the door. "Oh." Whoever she was rooming with wasn't here yet. So she could still hope for the best.... Shutting the door behind her, Thora set to work taking stock of the room and figuring out where to put her things.

OOC: I'm not sure what sort of set-up we have in these rooms; I'm picturing it sort of like the dorm rooms at the college I went to, but since your mind is different than mine, I figured I'd better let you determine how big they are and how they're laid out and so forth.

[Raleigh]

*Each of the rooms are fairly decent in size for dorm rooms. Enough room for two beds, two desks, a tv stand, seperate closets for the students, and an attached bathroom. The beds are already fully made and complete with some comfortable but supporting pillows. There is possibly enough room for students to bring in a mini-fridge if they want to and still let them walk around.*

- Gerald, a student who had kept to himself for the duration of all that took place in the classroom decided to raise his hand to pose a question.
" Yeah, is there any consequences for kicking your roomate out of the dorm? Espically if your roomate turns out to be an annoying idiot? If so I might as well be by myself I like my privacy..plus if the person snores I may have to mame them."-

Ricky looks in the room he got assigned to. "Wow nice digs...though I wonder who my roomate is?" Ricky said.

[Raleigh]

Josh finds his room already occupied by a young man who is busy reading something from the internet at his computer. "Ahh new kid ehh? Welcome to the school. If you need much in the way of advice, ask me. If you need much in the way of homework, well you are pretty much messed up around here. Everyone has to do their own. By the way, names Raven."

Thora's room recieves a knock on the door. A female voice speaks from outside. "Excuse me, but I believe this is my assigned room. Might I be allowed inside?"

Kai finds his room already occupied by a 'person' sitting in their coffin writing something. "Stay out of my way and we will have no problems. I would tell you to call me master, but I don't want to associated with you like that. So you might as well call me Drake. Don't touch any of my collected trinkets you see around the room." Here Drake points out several artifacts that look like they probably pack a bit of power. "And also don't touch my drinks in the fridge."

Ricky's room currently has no one in it with him. Maybe the other student decided not to come?
