The Nuclear Base/Power Plant.

Elise and Tetsuo find themselves both in the ante-chamber, as the door closes behind them, and the door into the nuclear rod facility opens.

Just in time for them to see Genno get attacked by a spear. (And now, everyone is on the same page...)

Seeing an attack already on its way toward Genno, Tetsuo reflexively said, "W-watch out!"

[Xiao]

Xiao walked to the control room, doing his best to not get lost. As he walked in, he saw the fight starting but didn't believe he could help much there. He did walk over to the control panel where Scientia currently was sitting, if worse came to worse, he could at least try and keep the shield from going down.

Elise was not so distanced. No, she just saw the attack, and knew she had to try to stop it.... With a wild, wordless cry, again holding her umbrella like a samurai sword, she raced towards the two, only thought in her mind to try to deflect that spear....

Many things happened at once.. Genno heard Elise come in, and turned around, smiling at her. He was also hit by the spear, probably puncturing a lung, breaking ribs, but it missed his heart. That may be important later. He coughed up some blood and managed a faint smile at Elise. "Don't.. Don't die for ME. Please.. Be selfish. I'm... Sorry I couldn't help you find your parents Elise." And with that, Genno collapsed, no longer moving.

The Boss jumps down, and addresses the too-late Elise. "Was he someone special to you? I'm sorry he had to go like that, but it is the price of anyone who defies me. Now, will you surrender, or do you wish to join him?"


Outside, Scientia moves to set up some sort of device, that looks like an antenea on a tripod, but stops when she sees Xiao. "Let me guess. You're going to go in to challenge the invincible warrior to a fight to the death?"

[Xiao]

"No, too tired, I'm mostly here to help prevent harm on the humans present." Xiao said in response, "Also, if all else fails you are less 'unstoppable'."

[Mistress Guendolen]

Elise stared. Her face went ashen white. "No. No." She shook her head. "Don't... don't you dare die. Don't you dare! Don't leave me! Not like this!" She whirled, facing the Boss with an expression very few people had ever seen before. It was a look of complete and utter fury. Elise herself had said that it took a good bit to make her mad. Well, this had just done it.... "No." Her voice had almost an echo to it. "You- this is unforgivable. And I will take you down if it is the last thing I do!" She pressed one of the buttons on her umbrella. The outer part slid down... and she unsheathed a long, slender sword, blade similar to that of a fencing foil. It looked very, very sharp....

While Elise responded by focusing on the Boss, Tetsuo still focused on Genno, horror-struck. The gun fell from numb fingers and her knees almost fell to the ground as well. While she knew that she couldn't have had the time to do anything but yell what she had, she still felt responsible just for seeing it happen in front of her. Almost stumbling upon her first step toward Genno, she practically fell to her knees once she reaches him, her hands raised, trembling, but unable to decide on what to do. She wanted to comfort him yet didn't know how, and she knew that removing the "spear" might make things worse... That is, if the worst hadn't happened already: because she didn't know if his still body meant that he was already dead or not.

"Oh... I'm so sorry..." She whispered, on the verge of sobbing.

The Boss doesn't meet the eyes of Elise, instead turning to Tetsuo. "It is a matter of perception. If you force yourself not to perceive the pain and sorrow, then you can have the strength to do what must be done. It is the way that I will make sure that the one who I slew was the last to die."

She turns to Elise, and her voice changes subtly, sounding almost like someone who is speaking in a play, with lines that are well-rehearsed. "Now, the final test of humanity. Does your will have the strength to pierce this iron shell? Let us see..." The Boss raises one hand, and motions as if to 'bring it on'.
