Elise's breath was halting. The hilt of the sword slipped in her hands, damp with sweat. Her palms itched, tingling. She had to do something.... But what? Another stab wouldn't work; it would be seen coming. Or would it?... After all, Genno- the demon inhabiting his body, anyway- was keeping the Boss distracted, for the moment.
Elise decided to take a risk. This wasn't something she was sure would work. Her work with spiritual energy was typically benign. But she did have one assault... she'd only ever used it on undead, didn't know whether or not it would work on a living mortal. But she was going to try.
One hand pulled the brooch free of her collar, holding it a a foci. Eyes fixed on her opponent as she spoke the words of the incantation- small words, simple words, as after all, this was an attack for the heat of battle, when there was no time for fancy chants. He palms tingled again, this time more sharply. She finished the incantation, thrusting both hands out in front of her, fingers pointed upward, palms out. It was thus that she didn't see the faint glimmer of light around the delicate, barely visible marks embossed on those palms, as an immense ball of shining blue-white light blasted forth, firing towards the Boss....
