Apartment Complex

[Teddy]

He grabbed a piece of the toast and quickly devoured it. He looks towards the stove and nods, beginning to make some of his own. "That's damn good... Thanks for the recipe!"

[Mistress Guendolen]

Elise grinned from ear to ear at his reaction. "Glad you like it." The gusto with which he approached every new thing was so endearing.... For some reason, it made her want to cuddle him. That can wait until later.... "Hey, can I scoot in here and help make enough for both of us? Or should I start the bacon?"

[Teddy]

"Hm? Ah..." He taps his chin, thinking a minute. "If.. You think there's 'nuff room for ya, we can probably cook and eat this entire thing of bread.. And eat it all ta boot." He chuckled, scooting over to the side a bit, as to make room for Elise.

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Thanks." Elise scooted in next to him; it was close quarters, but as long as they didn't turn simultaeously or whatever, they could manage okay. "Bet this is one time you're glad I'm not very big, huh?... Eat this whole loaf of bread? Wow, you must be hungry.... Granted, I can eat a load of this stuff myself, so I'm no one to talk!"

[Teddy]

"As you said, I'm a blast furnace. Food is what keeps me goin', right?" He put his batch with what was left of Elise's first, and begins to prepare some more. "Heh.. This is nice.. Think we could could cook like this every morning?"

[Mistress Guendolen]

"I think that would be a great idea." Elise kind of tapped her head against his shoulder for a moment, like she had when walking down the street with the bags. "This is... cozy. And I like knowing my boyfriend isn't afraid of cooking! I've been told a lot of men are, after all."

[Teddy]

"Bah. I don't see why they would.. Food is better if you or someone you love makes it... Maybe it's just somethin' with our brains or our souls.. But.. This toast should be proof of that."

[Mistress Guendolen]

Elise giggled happily. "I guess so. I know it tastes better than any I've made just by myself, that's for sure." She was munching on one piece even while continuing to make more. "And apparently a lot of men think cooking is 'unmanly' or something. I guess that when you can create fire you don't need to worry about things like that, though, huh?"

[Teddy]

"Heh.. Kinda. Fire is what I was good at.. Just fighting with it was kinda pointless.. But cooking with it was a good idea of mine." He stuffs another piece into his mouth, almost not bothering to chew.

[Mistress Guendolen]

"I'd say it's a more practical use, yes.... Be careful there! I don't want to have to do the Heimleich on you if you choke without chewing that!" she said. "Hm, given how well we're going here, pity we don't have more money- we could open our own restaurant!"

[Teddy]

"Hm.. That's an idea Elise!" Apparently, he's finished his newest piece of toast, a sly grin forming across his face. "We could open a resturant ta make ourselves a living. Advertise it as stoveless, and I'll cook the food in front of them... You can help cook, and I bet we could rope some people into doin' dishes and shopping for us.." He stares at the toast for a while. "Whatcha think?"

[Mistress Guendolen]

"So you're thinking sort of like one of those hibachi places, then, where the preparation of the meal is like entertainment?... Wouldn't that be a drain on you, though, doing all that on your own? Even if maybe you only do the main dish that way; I could do side dishes and things in the back, regular way. Hmm, wonder if any of the people we've met would like to get in on this?..." Elise tapped her chin thoughtfully. "This is in fact a good idea, but- where would we get the money for it all? Location, revamping and decorating it, paying wages for anyone who helps us, licensing- my trust itself has more than enough money in it for this, but well, I'm not allowed to touch the principle just yet.... Only the interest. And while that interest has been building, I'd have to drain it for this venture...." She toyed with the package of bacon, staring into space in thought. "Still, if we could swing this, it could be a really great thing...."

[Teddy]

"Well, we'll build up some money first.. Then we can figure out how to open one." He stares at the toast, a bit surprised at his own insight.

[Mistress Guendolen]

"What you looking so surprised at?" Elise asked, lightly resting her hand overtop his. "All these inspirations? They... are something, aren't they? I don't know that I'd ever have thought of anything like this if you hadn't gotten me started along the way. Now, the question is just raising our funds to do this.... Oh, and finishing brunch, I'd say. You want me to get the bacon started?"

[Teddy]

He snapped out of it, looking over at her. "Hah.. Sure. Food first, planning later, right?"
