Uniting the Catpeople MKII

Jack nods and hurriedly gets out the perfectly cooked quiche, sighing with relief as he cuts it into quarters, leaving two slices as he places one on each plate next to the potato salad. Purrfect... My GCSE in cooking wasn't wasted after all, hope Guen thinks the same.

(Just so you know, a GCSE is like a UK high school qualification.)

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Wow, that smells- and looks- wonderful." She smiled, ears and tail twitching in anticipation. Oh, dear, I don't like potato salad, but he worked so hard on it, I'll try it anyway, I don't want to make him sad....

[David]

Jack smiles at the compliment and hands Guen her plate, nothing really special looking about it but to Jack, it's the taste that matters.
Ah well, I'll see if you still think that after eating it, hope you don't mind that I used low fat mayo for the salad but it should just taste as good.

Jack proceeds to smile at Guen, blushing a little with his hands behind his back so she can't see him crossing his fingers, hoping that she will like it.

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Low fat mayo? I don't mind, no...." She took up her fork and took a bit of the quiche. "Oh, this is delicious! You did a wonderful job!" More of the hot pie continued to be eaten, ears and tail twitching happily.

[David]

Jack blushes furiously as he sits down next to her with his own plate. G-glad you like it, it's an simple old recipe but that's why the acronym KISS was made I think,"Keep It Simple Stupid" in other words... Uh, yeah.
He couldn't believe it, she really did seem to be enjoying it and while he had to agree that he made a tasty meal, that was his own opinion really so to have someone else agree was mindblowing. Jack continued to eat along with her, ears twitching happily with a big grin on his face.

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Well, you're hardly stupid, though I won't argue simple recipes are sometimes the best." She couldn't help but sineltly laugh at the wa his ears and tail were twitching all over the place. There was no other word for it- it was just so darn cute. And knowing he was so happy felt good. "This is so good.... For some reason, I just can't say that enough!"

[David]

I er... Y-yeah. Jack blushes again, oblivious to his extraneous features showing his cheerful mood. There's plenty more left if you want some.

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Really?" Her ears twitched eagerly. "Oh, I do, I do!" She eagerly scrambled into the kitchen for seconds. "I'm so glad you're not one of those guys who thinks a girl should eat like a bird!"

[David]

I well, yeah... I don't think the meal itself is that fattening anyway, I'm glad you like it enough to have seconds anyway! Jack rubs the back of his head bashfully, that blush seems to be a permenant fixture now.

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Oh, I'm sure it's not. It sure tastes healthy. But if you're going to cook like this, then you definitely don't need to worry about helping me with the rent for staying here!" She was happily tackling her second slice of quiche. That blush is so unbelievably adorable....

[David]

W-what? Jack nearly drops his plate with surprise as he looks up at her, tail stuck up straight in the air.
I can't just be a free loading bum! I mean I have to help out on my end you know. I just couldn't accept leeching off of a lovely lady like you.

[Mistress Guendolen]

"But you wouldn't be! You'd be helping me with other things. A leech is someone who'd sleep on the couch all day and eat potato chips and expect his dinner handed to him every night. But I'll be honest with you- if this meal is any indicator, you're a better cook than I am. That counts for a lot! Don't get me wrong, if you want to contribute I won't argue, but it's not compulsory. I don't want you straining what finances you have on my account." She smiled. "It's really okay. You're not freeloading!"

Jack seems to ease up a little and nods. Well, if you say so but I'll admit my financial situation is a bit rubbish at the moment.
But for now, as long as you're happy with me cooking you stuff then it's fine and maybe a model for your male fashion stuff.
He shrugs and leans forward a little to finish off his plate of food, "She's a real saint, don't know how she ended up with me but I'm not complaining, I'll take my chances.", he thought to himself as eats.

[Mistress Guendolen]

"If you make meals that taste this good every day, I swear I won't have a complaint in the world! Except perhaps blowing up like a balloon from eating too much," she added. And I'd just have to hope you wouldn't go off me if that happened. Most men do, after all. He seems nicer, but well, even nice guys can be funny about that.... "But I'd definitely love to have you be a model, once I get a fashion show together. My only worry in that department is other girls trying to spirit you away on me!"

[David]

Me? "Spirited Away"? But I know what my real name is! Jack laughs for a moment or so before sighing. Oh god, that was crap wasn't it? Oh well, you supply me the ingredients miss Guen and I'll make sure you get your 3 meals a day, so long as I get some too and besides, I don't think you'll balloon up so long as I keep the meals sensible.

All of a sudden, his ears perk up. Oh damn it! I forgot to work on the dessert! Um, mind if I disappear into your kitchen again?
