After a short while Tina got up and went upstairs, then she got there Tina turned to the Misdreavus hybrid.
"You noticed didn't you?", she asked, "when I tried to look into Aiko's mind you felt me doing it didn't you?"
Mary nodded (I'm taking it Mary is the misdrevaus hybid) "It would take a great deal of effort for me not to. You need to be more subtle, you're trying to act as a psychic type when you are not. Besides, why would you want to look into your friend's mind without her permission?"
"Because I wanted to know where she got so much power. I know she told me her flareon taught her but it only became a flareon right as you arrived, that would mean she was being trained by an eevee and absol tells me that that amount of fire training could never come from that source." said Tina, for some reason telling this ghost woman everything, "I mean, she's been acting strange ever since she found out about the Professor's involvent in the hybrid projects. I fear she can only look at this in black and white, with no sense of grey and now I fear Erin is starting to go down the same road as Aiko." she sighed
"And what about you?" asked the hybrid, "How do you feel about the professor?"
"I still trust him, at least as much as I trusted him before. I fear however that there will be a similar reaction to me when they learn about my past..." said Tina gloomily.
"I understand", said Mary, "What's your name?" she asked
"Tina" replied Tina, "I'm a gengar hybrid"
"I'm Mary, a misdreavus hybrid," replied Mary, she held out her hand, "Take my hand, I'll show you something"
Tina took Mary's hand and watched as it slowly started to vanish, all of a sudden she felt a tug and then the room turned grey.
"Welcome to the spirit world", announced Mary, "This is the world you are connected to as a ghost."
Sure enough a pair of haunters wandered past gave them a quick glance and carried on.
"Why does everything look grey?" Tina asked
"It's not," replied Mary, "look closer."
At First Tina looked closer at the wall but it was still grey, after a few seconds she turned around then she spotted it.
"You're still in colour!" she announced
"That is correct", replied Mary, "This place works on spiritual energy, meaning that people look normal, inanimate objects look grey and spirits are more colourful than they are in the normal world. Do you remember how it felt when I brought you here, or more what you felt from me?"
"Yes, I felt a need to disappear, as though you were hiding from someone." said Tina
"Correct", answered Mary, "I use this place as a sanctuary, this makes it easier for me to come here because all I need is a want to hide."
"So can we be seen like this?" asked Tina
"Not to most," replied Mary, "other ghosts and those more attune to the spirit world can see you and some psychics can feel your presense however this takes quite a bit of skill."
"So how do I return?" asked Tina
"Just want to return to reality" the hybrid replied
All of a sudden a thought struck Tina.
"Would I be able to track Aiko and Erin unnoticed?"
"probably," Mary said vaugely, "Is that what you are going to do?"
"Yes", replied Tina, "Thank you very much for your help." she called as she ran into the rat-trap of the spirit version of the city.
"Hmm," Mary said to herself, "A talented Girl with good devotion, however, her mind is somewhere I never want to go again." As she shifted back to the physical realm she thought to herself I will have to keep an eye on her
Tina ran as fast as she could, she knew she could catch up with only a brisk walk but she needed to hear as much of their conversation as possible. After a couple of minutes she spotted them from the top of a building. Using shorcuts (both back alleys and just phasing through buildings) she caught up with them. She decided to tail them from a very short distance so she could hear what they were saying. At one point Espeon looked back for a second, then shook her head and continued.
I guess I really can't be seen while like this Tina thought.
