Okay, so... I think you'd all know the drill here (even if I don't...)
So, uh, I guess I'll start off with a quick overview of the world of this thing:
It is the year 1017 of the Age of Man, and war casts it's shadow over Ronos. The king of DeSaya is dead -- assassinated, and the resultant backlash threatens to draw Man and Demon into war. But all is not yet lost. DeSaya's prince, long believed dead himself, journeys home to bring stability to his kingdom, and in a small port town, a legend of old has resurfaced...
An Overview of Ronos:
Ronos is a land of conflict, a region where various races vie for dominion over one another. There are two continents in Ronos: Falan in the north, and Makoma in the south.
Falan: A continent divided -- literally. A great barrier known as the Wall of Howling Souls divides Falan's eastern and western halves, even continuing out into the seas in the north and south. There are three major powers in Falan: In the west, the Fyrsetian Empire, ruled over by the Three Tribes and their ilk. In the East, the smaller kingdoms of Aros and DeSaya, where mankind makes it's home. The only means of traveling from one end of the continent to the other is by ship, through a small pass in the Wall to the north.
Makoma: A comparatively stable land. While the Howling Soul Wall is present even here, much of Makoma is situated to the west of it. All the races of Ronos can be found here, living side by side. Maybe not peacefully, but it's a far cry from the genocide and hatred experienced in Falan. Makoma has no great nations, but the large trade city of Duenac was once the seat of a mighty empire. Ruins dot the landscape, especially in the eastern mountain ranges, where scholars from faraway lands come to marvel at the grand architecture of the ancient ones.
Nakra: A holy isle where the majority of the Deagra race reside. It is said that the god Drakan ascended to the heavens from this land.
The Peoples of Ronos:
Kyunos: Simply put, humans. Kyunos were enslaved long ago by the Three Tribes, and won their freedom only after many years of bloodshed. They are a weak race compared to others, but it is said that long ago, the Kyunos were masters of a great and terrible power...
In the Holy Tongue, their name means "Accursed". Kyunos bear a symbol with the same meaning upon their foreheads.
Fyrbren: One of the Three Tribes, and bearers of the Divine Brand of Raging Flame. The Fyrbren possess an ability to manipulate fire to a certain extent. They are a very arrogant race, and look down upon others who do not share their blood. A Fyrbren's skin ranges from dull crimson to pale rose in color, and their hair from golden to blood-red. Their Divine Brand is tattooed upon their chest. As they live among fire, most Fyrbren wear minimal clothing.
Saelen: One of the Three Tribes, and bearers of the Divine Brand of Writhing Shadow. The Saelen are masterful shapeshifters, valued as spies in many parts of the world. As many of their kind are thieves, they are looked upon with mistrust and generally keep to themselves. Saelen's skin and hair are varying shades of green, usually on the darker side. Their Divine Brand is on their right hand, and if the hand is cut off, a Saelen will lose his power and be locked in whatever form he has taken.
Stenides: One of the Three Tribes, and bearers of the Divine Brand of Stoic Earth. Stenides are unbelievably strong, and their leathery skin is tough to cut through with an ordinary sword. Stenides are light brown in color, and typically stand about a head taller than a Fyrbren or Saelen. Their Divine Brand is located on their left shoulder.
Deagra: Little is known of the Deagra, who are said to be descended from dragons due to their appearance. Some Deagra are believed to be over a thousand years old. Most of their kind reside on the Holy Isle, but small colonies have been seen in the western plains of Falan.
Guidelines for This RP:
Your Character:
This is a medieval-type setting, so make sure you don't do something stupid like pull out a cell phone. All that's really needed here is a basic description of you character, his/her appearance, blah blah blah. Backstories aren't necessary; if needed, they'll come out in the RP itself. So, just don't make your character a godmodder or royalty, pretty much. Oh, and magic beyond the inherent abilities of each race is basically nonexistent. The RP'll start in the western region of Falan, so keep that in mind.
Notes About the Five Races:
Kyunos, as the overview states, are essentially humans. No abilities or traits out of the ordinary, save one that may not even come into this.
Fyrbren are limited in their control of fire: Most can move it around and form it into simple shapes, but it takes years - decades, even - to perform more complicated feats (eg creating a weapon or wings out of flame). It also takes a great deal of training and talent to actually generate the flame, but it is possible without this training to intensify an existing heat source. In regards to their clothing, most Fyrbren dress like they're in a desert, no matter the climate.
Saelen, like Fyrbren, must undertake years of training to transform into anything significantly larger of smaller than their natural forms, and they cannot become inanimate objects. Transforming of only specific parts of the body (like changing eye color or giving yourself claws) is possible. If you lose your right hand, you WILL be locked in whatever form you've taken. But this has to be regulated to an extent: no deliberately aiming for your opponent's hand in a swordfight, for instance. The Brand will remain no matter what form you take.
Stenides are basically strong enough to lift a car with some effort. So no throwing mountains around!
I don't exactly have all the details nailed down in regards to the Deagra, so think Soul Calibur's Lizardman with wings, in regard to their appearance (though with slightly better posture).
Ages should range between about 50 and 300 for Fyrbren, Saelen, and Stenides, 50 being equivalent to about 15-16 and 300 being around 60-ish. Deagra can be very, very old, up to about 1500 years of age.
Phew... just ask me if there's anything you need clarified...
