I'm a captionjack, and that's okay...

You do have me with that cute psychotic girls. Hmmm. None the less, I was not expecting sound.

Anyway, about your newest caption. That was a very nice little story, even if all your heart was not into it. I still liked it quite a bit. Happy endings are becoming more and more rare I think.

The new one was a nice story, very interesting how it came out.

Interesting. Closer to a short story than a caption, though.

Ell:

Yeah, many of them are like that. But I figure that I have at least a thousand words before it's too much, and I had two images there. :P

That was a very cute little faery tale. Long or short, it was great. =^-^=

Wow. I am most impressed. That was excellent. Very much in the mood of the old Celtic faerie tales. The way faeries were before the Victorians sanitized the legends. The rules, the lure of the fae, the final ramifications of dealing with them, the fact that when it gets right down to it, getting a faerie to marry you will ultimately not end well.... It's all there. Count me one very pleased faerie fan.

I'm glad to hear that. XD I probably could have stressed some of the important aspects better, but I really didn't know how to without making the caption too long.

The interesting part about many of the old tales is that the promises should have been easy to keep, to simply not raise a hand against the wife (a faery), not to look at a certain time of the day, go to a certain place, or not to watch when they are doing something. Humans by far get the better end of the deal, by our perceptions, yet we still manage to mess it up. And in most cases broken promises only result in losing the fae's services instead of a punishment, though I guess that's punishment enough, considering what they could do to provide good fortunes.

But, yeah, I wanted one of the morbid stories, though this one I wanted to be a bit beyond the usual twist. The hardest part was probably wording the fortuneteller's words so it'd fit with everything.

Yeah, predictions and what not can be tricky that way. You have to make it fit while also being oblique enough not to be blatantly obvious at the outset. It's a fine line. And hey, some of those stories could be pretty grim. Take the aughisky, for instance. It's the Irish version of the kelpie. Only when it tricks people into riding it, it doesn't just dunk them and run away; instead, it drowns and devours them, all except for the liver. Fits the same sort of mood, no?

I thought the first and fourth ones were best. The first because who wouldn't throw an axe in that situation, and four because...um...because I liked it. Yeah, that's it.
