Lost In The Inferno Of Dante

Postby Baku Genkaku » Thu Sep 20, 2007 11:39 pm

The cold night air stings the back of your nostrils, as mankind pulls up its shirt collar for the cold night. The streetlights flicker as the moths and bugs flutter and skitter under them. With the electric current buzzing blending their night chorus into a constant drone. The distant sounds of sirens across town fill your ears as you all wander, thinking of how to escape, how avoid what's ahead...and behind you.

Continuing to walk you eventually come to notice that the sirens have stopped for some time. There are no sounds at all, now that you think about it...not even the hissing of tires passing by far off.
It's silent...Something isn't right, you are in a city, where there is always supposed to be noise.

Ian wandered aimlessly through the dark side-alleys and unknown streets of the city, images of fire and the sound of people screaming filled his head.
In his hand he held a sturdy stick, about a meter and a quarter long and about three inches thick. The stick was a keepsake from his old life in a countryside village. He had had it for many years since and it had never broken, never been damaged, no matter what happened to it. It was the one constant he had in his life.
He wandered on until he came across the place he was heading for. Surrounding the city was a wasteland of derelect land and unkempt plant-life. It is where he would come to think, the never-ending din of urban life distant but still adiable as he sat there in the long forgotten ruin.
He looked up. It was quiet. Dead quiet. Something was wrong, it was never quite, even here. He stood up and looked out of the window. It was pitch black but he could tell there was something out there. Somthing was moving with stealth that no human could possess.

Matt walks along the streets. He was just thinking things over. He walked for quite a while, lost in thought, when he finally realized something that was odd. "No noise..." he says. "That's very strange." He looks around a bit, still walking, but much slower.

Ian, you look up to be met with the sight of a long alleyway, that even though it is well lit, sends a feeling of loss and abandonment through your spine. Shocked by the suddenly unfamiliar surroundings you attempt to stand up. Only to soon find that you where sitting on the burnt out husk of an old Ford mustang, in a boxed off corner of the alley, with the words 'The plagues of war, and trails of time, bring famine and death, to render me blind' spray painted on the sidewalk and walls, circling the ruined car. From what you can see, the sentence is sprayed nine times, in circles, one inside the other.

Matt, you look around to see the abandoned city streets, with no knowledge of where you have stumbled into. Looking at the street signs is no help, because you have never heard of streets 'Cross Rd.' or 'Outter Cr.'. Assuming that if you turn around to backtrack, you will find that the Alleyway you entered from is now blocked off by a high chainlink fence, with barbed wire at the top. And something is telling you that isn't rust on the barbs either. As you continue to progress, a hand falls on your shoulder as a preist of some sort, who is bald, mid-fifties, and has a bushy mustache, turns you around to face him.
"Have you seen the holy light, or even attempted at finding salvation!?"
Before a response can be made, another hand turns you around sharply.
"Cut the crap, Eppard. No one's around, so drop the act." Holding you by the collar is a tall muscular figure with an unrully long blonde mane of hair. His chest is covered in blood and scars, that seemed to have been staining his skin for at least a couple of days, if not weeks now.
"You gonna cut him for the money or what, Leon?" says a voice in the side alley. A tall gamey woman, with the countenance of a rabid wolf, slinks out of the alley taking a long drag on her cigarette, then stamping it out with her heel.
"Shutup, woman, I can handle this" Yells the beastly man, who has now drawn a knife to your neck. "Now get outta here Reverand, would want someone to see ya and blow your cover."
The Fat preacher grumbles something under his breath, as he turns away opening his apparently hollowed out bible, to take a long swig from the flask he had hidden inside.

"Now, hand over anything you have that's worth anything. Don't care if it's cash, or not, hand it ovah' and you might walk away alive."

Ian looked at the words which he found himself surrounded in.

"The plauges of war, and trials of time, bring famine and death, to render me blind" He read out loud. "Where have I heard that before?" he asked himself befor looking down a well lit passageway. Just looking at the road flooded him with feelings of loss and abandonment, far worse than any he had felt before.
Eventually he got up of what looked like a car, long since burned out and headed down the road, holding his stick tightly, with fear following closely behind.

Anna walked along the streets, hugging a jacket she had brought out along with her. "so noisy..." she mumble to herself as she continued forward, stopping suddenly when she realized how silent everything else has become.

"I don't have anything worth anything on me. All I have on me is a pocket knife. I doubt it's worth anything." Matt says. "Your more than welcome to see for yourself, if you want me to show you. I was only out taking a walk."

there is a sign up board, look at that before randomly posting in the regular rp section. No there is no more info than what is posted in here, OR in the signup. There will be more than likely no, if any TG, since I'm shooting for a regular rp. Everyone in here is just as much in the dark as you are unless they have read the Inferno before, and can guess at what's ahead.]

The large, lanky, muscular man shakes you hard by your shirt, Matt, and yells, "Well, you should have made better choices than whatever made you come here tonight!" He tosses you away, landing you square on your back. He begins to loom toward you with his knife, fogged up from the humidity of the hot night and the wet sidewalk. Much like the claw of an animal, he carries it like a part of himself. He puts his hard-sole boot on your chest, putting enough pressure to almost break your ribs, but not quite. "Weep for the lost, child..."
He raises his knife in the air, ready to play with you like a dart board.

Ian, you progress down the alleyway, the steam from the sewage drains clouding your vision from time to time, releasing noises like that of hissing serphents. Voices come to you down the alleyway entrance, but are soon interupted, A young man, about your age, lands on the sidewalk on his back, not even two feet away from you. He gasps for air as the wind is knocked out of him, and a tall monster-like man can be seen through the alley's steam. The shape in the smoke steps on the man's chest, making the pinned one grunt in strangled pain from the pressure of its foot. "Weep for the lost, child..."

Anna, fuming over what was done to you injustly a couple of hours ago, you suddenly stop. You look around to see what street you are on, and come to a corner, telling you that you are at the corner of 'Cross Rd.' and 'Outter Cr.'. Your street you are on [cross rd.] ends perpendicular to 'Outter Cr.'. Voices soon reach you, distant, but still recognizable as voices. Across the street is a Man being thrown onto the ground by an obvious street thug, who is now looming over him. It looks like he's gonna kill him!
*flash*
An oblisk of a man stands before you, as the world itself seems to stop turning, and the air stops moving. The man behind the towering being with ebony wings, is frozen in time, with his knife ready to stike the younger one.
The Dark one who you feel to be kind, yet still a creature to be feared, stands before you in all his shadowed glory. His Black scythe bears script woven in gold, and whispers, radiating the joy of birth, and the sorrow of loss. His shadowed face shoes nothing except a strange runic script that wraps once around his head, crossing what you guess to be the bridge of his nose. You cannot read the runes, or pronounce them, but the meaning is clear. Death and destruction. Two words formed into a single word of beauty, promising great things to come.
The creature turns to the frozen scene of fear and tears to follow, and walks forward. He bends down to the pinned man and whispers in his deaf, but listening ear "Virtue's potential. Now is not for you to leave with me. Find your home. Tell of what you discover. Make your choices carefully."
The Winged creature lifts its gaze to another out of sight. You now can see him beyond the mist, supporting himself as the hermit does. "Let not your ambition blind you, for wants cannot please as what waits for you will. Do not be clouded by temptation, and be a sheild for the needy."
He begins to rise to his feet and then turns to you Anna. "Follow...Listen...Support...Be reason among the hopeless. Do not stray."
*flash*

The killer growls his words, Death now absent but likely to return,"Weep for the lost, child"

"Hey, get off me!" Matt says. How'd I get myself in this position? he wonders while trying to get out from under the man's foot.

Anna blinks, having sen the image of death. His words still echoed in her mind as turned her attention to the thug and the man.

"Hey! you get away from him!" she yelled out, running from across the street

Ian saw the 'manster' (its like a cross between man and monster and its a word now) crush the from of the man under his broad foot. As he stared, rooted to the spot he heard the words "Weep for the lost child..." from the big man as he pressed down harder with his foot.

Suddenly a girl ran from out of the fog at the man, yelling at him to stop. Then Ian saw the knife in the man's hand.

Reason leaving him he griped his stick in his hands and dashed at the man.

The man called Leon, looked up at the girl running toward him and proclaims, raising his arms in praise,"FINALY, a fresh peice!"
He looks down at Matt with a grin on his face and says,"wait here" and kicks him in the ribs. He then turns away, unaware of Ian, and lumbers to Anna. The knife held tight in his white-knuckled grip.

Anna quickly halted her run, back up slight, she was hoping the thug would've simply ran after hearing a witness. "um...stay away! or I'll call the cops!" she proclaimed as she fumbled around her person for a cellphone, finding none, although her hands did feel a taser in her jacket's pocket.
