Immortality is overrated. You have to watch your parents, your friends, your spouse, and your kids die while you keep right on living.
I'd rather wish for there to be an afterlife based--sort of--on the Christian model. Not the specific structure or anything, or the "no non-believers" rule, but good people go to heaven, bad people go elsewhere. Reincarnation is an available option too, in case you liked living.
Now if it turns out that the Christians are right, and heaven already exists, then I've just wasted my wish. That's cool with me; at least I know I've got someplace to go after this.
And about the fear of death thing, Shadowmaster, just remember the immortal words of... um... Mark Twain, I think:
"Death is nothing but a horizon. And a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight."
