Have you danced in public before?

Postby Coruscate » Fri Oct 19, 2007 3:20 am

School dances and bars all count.

As for me, never in school, I was the school nerd and avoided the parties like the plague. I didn't dance in public until my sister dragged my behind out onto the bar floor during her wedding after-party. Since then, I love it. (Always loved dancing, just was shy). I love to dance, but am afraid to without a partner for fear of looking straight out gay. (Wouldn't bother me in Europe, but out here I have to worry, especially since I'm trying to hook up with a girlfriend.)

Nope. Same situation as Coruscate here, but I'm still a nerd and I've got no plans to change that any time soon. :)

Nope. Too nerdy. Don't know any dances, and couldn't do 'em if I did. I never went to a prom or bar, or any place that involves dancing, really, minus playing a DDR game in an arcade, and I suck at those. Not to mention the fact no girl would dance with me, anyway.

Yes. I dance around randomly all the time- it doesn't even need to be a relatively dancy moment either. Heck, I danced across the stage before I got my high school diploma and got a round of applause from about 3000 people, it was pretty sweet, cause I was energetic.

I too, am a nerd.
However, I'm a shameless nerd. I hath danced in public :D
In my defense, it was J-pop music. And once when I was listening to the Mortal Kombat theme song on my MP3 player, I started Kung-fu fighting invisible Ninja on the sidewalk XD

I may have, but I can't remember when. I can't say the audiences were all that big, but nowadays I tend to trudge around like a zombie, so... I'd say no if it was referring to any time lately.

My dance was more a mix of native American Grass dancing with a bit of hip-hop, I guess. Really free form, lots of movement. Granted, I'm hardly the type to sit still, in the manner of I have to move my fingers or my feet or whatever. Otherwise, I go nuts and start biting people or something.

I dunno, your awful imaginations can fill in the blanks, I'll give y'all free reign with that. :P

I dance despite not knowing any moves. Although it may sometimes look like I'm having a seizure or something it seems to attract girls like it did at Prom. So whatever works...

I've random-danced in public many a time. At weddings (two of which me being part of the wedding party, so wearing a fancy gown while doing so), at several anime con raves (wearing cat ears/cosplay, at that), on stage in high school theatre (that counts, right?), at a karaoke place in college (someone else was singing a Spanish-rhythm-esque song, and I got up and started doing kind of cha-cha type moves with a friend), and on St. Patrick's Day this year, in the bar of choice with my friends, they were playing Irish music, and I started doing modified Irish step dancing. Got a random girl photographing me at that one. :) Yup, I'm a nerd, but a dancing fool, too. Oh, yeah, I did dance recitals when I was younger, too. And at concerts, as well. One band in particular, a Canadian Celtic rock-folk band called Great Big Sea. They encourage their audiences to dance when the venue allows it, and I've done so. :) I've danced in public a lot, now I think on it....

I take Hay-chan's outlook...too nerdy...but then I cast that aside and dance anyway! People are frightened of me. ^_^;;

All the girls in my 8th grade class dragged me to the dance floor at the 8th grade dinner dance.

I dance in public when I get the chance. It's fun and looking like an idiot isn't too much of a problem when it's in large groups, especially with people you know around.

Sophia doesn't really know how to dance though, but it's still fun!
