[Mistress Guendolen]

"Odd? That's a bit of an understatement.... And let's see, what time is it?" She looked at her watch. "Oh, it's after eleven. Later than I thought.... You sleepy?"

[David]

Jack nods. It's been a busy day for me but I usually stay up longer than this. Nevermind, I can work on sleeping patterns later.

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Yeah, I suppose you would be sort of the magical equivalent of jet-lagged, wouldn't you?... No doubt a good night's sleep or two will sort you out. I'm tired too- it's been a busy day. What say we just call it a night, huh?"

[David]

Jack nods but suddenly seems upset as his feline features droop. I-I'm sorry for being a burden like this.

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Stop that. You wanna make me smack you? You're no burden! You got that? When I said busy day, I meant it in a good way! Okay? I look forward to having another one tomorrow, talking to you and walking around the town and- and doing all sorts of little, fun things that typically get overlooked! So please stop thinking you're a burden or a bother, because you're not!"

[David]

Jack hugs Guen and purrs, wrapping his tail around her. Thanks again.

[Mistress Guendolen]

She blushed, a bit startled at the sudden embrace, but certainly in no way displeased by it. "You're welcome...." She hugged him back, rubbing her tail against his.

[David]

Jack keeps hugging Guen for a while until he letting go and drawing his tail back. Ok, where did you say I was sleeping again?

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Wherever you want to. If you want the fold-out couch, I'll grab sheets to make a bed up for you; I've got spare pillows and what not, so no worries there. But... if you'd rather, you know, cuddle with me, I'm good with that too...." Her eyes went down a bit, blushing. Was that too bold? It wasn't like she was suggesting they do anything other than sleep, but still....

[David]

Jack tilts his head as he thinks this offer over and nods after a short amount of time. Well... We were cuddling each other on the sofa so I guess in a bed it would be the same, right?

[Mistress Guendolen]

A small nod. "I'd think so. Just, you know, lying down instead of sitting up.... So, I'll just, you know, go change.... You want to use my room or the bathroom to put your pajamas on? I can go wherever you don't want to to do so." Part of her was nervous, but the other part felt that this would be nice....

[David]

Jack nods hastily and goes over to the shopping bags to pull out a set of PJ's. I'll use your bathroom if you don't mind, it shouldn't take me long.

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Take all the time you need. I'll still be here, never fear." She laughed, almost a giggle. It was a small, light sound. "I'm just going to go change myself.... See you in a few minutes." She went into her room, shutting the door on reflex. Her own shopping bag sat on the bed. Reaching inside, she pulled out the silky nightgown she'd bought tonight. Yes, wear this one. She'd promised, after all....

[muffinstud]

If the lovebirds hadn't been in separate rooms changing, they might have noticed Muffin bounce away from the fridge in frustration. "Stupid sourdough, standing me up. From now on, I only date sweetbreads!" He enters the bread box and looks at the clock. "Oh, hey. How long to they have left on their Neko trials? Meh, I've been generous. I'll give 'em one more hour, then they gotta get a paid subscription like everyone else." He closes the bread box.

From inside the breadbox, a choir is heard:
"Grand-Leavened-Empor-OR!!"
