Eternal Caravan signup and explanation

KO, I'm in the mood to do another rp. This is set in one of the various realities I've invented simply for the purpose of both story telling and rps such as this. Please post here to sign up and join the rp. No limit to the amount of characters you can make. No real rules on powers or limitations like most of my rps but please come in disguise if you wish to use your muffin room persona. In other words your character can still use the same name and powers and such but at least appear unaware of alternate realities to begin with, not saying they don't know about them, but this charade is needed to protect the reality the story is set in since the locals whole belief system would be destroyed should they become aware of such things.

If you sign up, you will be signing on to aid a merchant and his wondering caravan travel across the world this story is set in. You can sign on as either another merchant with the company, a guardian/body guard who helps defend the caravan, or even as some of the people in one of the various villages that will be met with during the story. I can't reveal too much about the world right now since that is sort of the point of the rp. It will be starting out in a mostly human settlement with a recruitment drive for new workers. There are rumors running rampant that this particular merchant's caravan is not entirely natural since it has supposedly been traveling around the world for the past 500 years or so.

Setting: The story will be taking place on a planet very much like earth. The big difference is that there are three moons instead of only one. All other astronomical/astrological events and signs are the same. The locals even call their planet earth or Terra just as we do. Land masses are divided up into five continents which vary with both local terrain and races. Races that exist on this world are your usual tried and true fantasy races plus anything you might wish to think up. Races so far known are as follows: Demons (Not malevolent entirely but they all appear wickedly dangerous even if all they do for a living is bake food they would still intimidate most people. Various appearances and forms are amongst this race), Humans (Standard fare here as they are a little bit of everything. Usually are capable of cruelties beyond even the demons or kindness beyond the divines.), Divines (Sort of angels or lesser gods in a sense with looks as varied as the demons. All of them appear fair to look at and tend to make others feel at some ease. They are not all neccesarily good though.), Elves (Standard set up with the various subraces.), Dwarves (They all have beards. Which ones are women?), varied animal half-breeds from lizard to monkey to cat to so on and so forth. Also in this world are epic races that are not commonly part of society but whose presences are felt such as the dragons. Interbreeding between all the races seems to be possible because on a rare occasion a half dragon can be found while half-demons or half-divines are fairly common depending upon where in the world you are.

I'll detail more of the setting later when I have more time.

Greetings Sir Rei. I'll sign up, as a new hire.

I'll be doing a dimensional analog of my usual self from Fukufics. The ears, tail, wings, all of it. I'll definately not have him knowing of other planets, much less planes of existence / dimensions, but what other limits should he have?

For example, should he not have the sex-change on sneezing? Should he be unable (no training), or incapable of using the varied "Nuclear" spells my normal self can? Or, should he simply not know that his Fire-based spells are any different from anyone elses? [[As in, he uses them like normal fire spells, they cast like normal, slightly higher mana-drain, and no-one knows they're all radioactive, thus causing more than average problems after large battles, poisoning enemies that retreat, etc. etc.]]
I'd think he at the very least couldn't do the high-end ones.

Are Firearms allowed? and if so, to what extent? [[IE:would they be race-specific, or merely freakishly rare]]


As for my guy's weapons, a Longsword, A smallshield, and a crossbow if Firearms aren't allowed. If they are, then a Longsword, a large Shield, and a Flintlock pistol. [[Goog gods dol those things have huge bullets]]

As to armor? Given that he's stronger than normal, and gets used for hammering things a lot. ... a Cold-Forged-Iron Breastplate he made, [[And the reason on that could be revealed later, ranging anywhere from being generally poor, to wanting to know how difficult it really was, to an appenticeship test from a blacksmith. More on it as I think.]] Iron boots, and Chain Leggings.

Random Crap: A harmonica he's been learning to play, ammunition (100) for his crossbow or gun, and a hiking pack with odds and ends suited for camping. [[He's a loner, likes going on long trips out of town, usually only a few miles into the woods, etc. etc.]]

I cannot think of anything special at the moment, but maybe as more people join, or situations arise in game.

I think it would be best to go with that he can still cast the nuke spells but at least everyone else just thinks they are fire spells. The sex-changing can be kept but you might want to work out an explanation of either a curse or something as being the reason why. I don't think I made an allowance for a race that sex shifts on sneezing but if you want to make one up that is fine. To start out with the fire arms will not be available but as the caravan travels I can assure you that flintlocks and more will be possible to pick up. I suppose you might even be able to acquire one early depending on if you snoop through some of the items the caravan is carrying but that could have consequences.

Hrmmm, On the Sex-shift, ... Magic spell gone horribly wrong? Yes, I'll have to continually think on what the spell was meant to do, and why it went wrong.


As to lack of Responses, I'd imagine most everyone else is doing last minute gift shopping.

Hai, I suppose that is so. I hope you don't mind a short wait since we may not get this started until January since it seems most people stay busy until then. That spell gone wrong works for me.

Or maybe some remnant of the spell, as the wizard sneezed while casting."

Sex: Base Male, Becomes Female during sneezes. Reverts to male in same fashion.
Eyes: Gunmetal Gray.
Height: 5'11" {For those that don't know the symbols, that 5 feet 11 inches. about average for an American male.}
Weight: 253 lbs. {Pounds}
Hair Color & length: This Color######
Distinguishing Scars: Vertical Scar through Right Eye. {Iris, pupil, white, all of it} Causes red discoloration of scarred area. Mild Impairment, as Iris contracts and Expands sluggishly.
Abnormal Appendages: Triangular Cat ears above and behind Temples, Approximately 3 Foot long Furred tail, retractable claws in Fingertips. Retractable Draconic wings.
Abnormal Abilities: Radioactive Fire. All of Aries' Fire Based Spells are tainted with Radiation. Aries does not know. Immune to Radiation, though Heat will still kill, as will lasers and such. {EX: Aries can live on a slab of weapons-grade Uranium and suffer no ill effects, whereas other life wandering nearby dies. Shoot him in a vital spot with a Laser or Graser though, and he's dead. Stand in a fire and he's dead. Gojira(godzilla) breath will not kill Aries, as it's pure radiation.}

Created his first Breastplate to local Master-smith's satisfaction, was told he possessed basic competency, but should probably continue learning magic.
Achieved Wanderers competency in Fire and Wind magics in early teens. Seems unable to progress further than Blinding Flash in Light magics.
Encountered Mad Wizard while hunting in early teens, received sex-changing "curse" during battle. "Curse" found to be triggered by sneezing. Fairy genes manifested in Female form. Sheds glitter, and wings become insectoid (Dragonfly like).
Created current breastplate from a meteorite found while hiking.
Recently joined the Eternal Caravan.

I finally got on. I've only been trying since 5am or so. Yeah that looks good to me, LAG. You can always update and adapt your character as the rp progresses.
