And I mean the manga, not the cruddy animes or...live actions that are coming out either

It starts off a bit cheesy but it evolves from harem to pretty good magic action, I love all the characters too!

It's one of those series where I look it up, shrug, then move on. But I do that with a lot of series, so...

Well, consider Kotarou got cut from all of the visual attempts that's understandable. I avoid using those because I had enough trouble trying to get people here to refer to myself as 'he' already.

The anime's were pretty bad, as the rating for both versions ended up showing as one was cut into a super kiddy version of the manga ignoring major plot points and ending it stupidly, while the negima! was just ... well bad.

either way the major flaw of the series... is the cast of characters.... namely the fact that there are over 50 major characters all of which have been deemed important enough that they effect the actual story, although nice it's become almost impossible to keep track of and confuses many story points.

I felt that the main problem was that they had to cut out major parts just to keep it in a 26 episode frame. In all seriousness, the story is much much longer than that and they had to cut out some of the best parts (Kotarou, the school festival (though I'm getting fed up with that manga wise), Chachamaru's interest, they changed Sayo's arc in both (which was the best one in my opinion). And the live action was a face-palm worthy blunder in terms of acting.

When you get past the festival, it gets really, really cool.

That's good to know, though I promised myself that I wouldn't pirate the manga. For one I can't stand reading manga on my computer and two, I feel that someone deserves to get paid for it due to several things reading it has brought me. ^^;

Got to read volume 16 today, much better than 15 by far.
