Hypothetical:

Two girls are fighting all-out in the hallway. A teacher is trying to break them up, but can't, and yells at the crowd gathering to help (because if there's a fight, there's someone watching). You have the opportunity and the ability to do so. Would you? Assume your relationship with these girls is neutral, you know them, you've spoken, but you haven't built up a rapport.

This actually happened to me a few days ago, and I didn't do anything. I feel kind of ashamed. I probably only would have made it worse, though.

Honestly...I don't know. I'd like to think that if I knew the pair that I'd step in and try to stop the fight. Having never been in that situation, though, I haven't a clue as to how I'd respond. You probably did the right thing though; I know that at the high school I went to, if someone steps in, even to try and stop a fight, and gets caught up in it, then they would end up facing the same punishment the people who STARTED the fight were facing. Plus, for all you know, you could have made it a lot worse.

I'd hop in if someone asked for someone to intervene and stop the fight by means of assisting the teacher. Ideally, some other people would hop in as well, in case on of the girls is able to beat the snot out of my nose.

First I'd get a decent ways away...and then rush into the fight, tackling both to the ground and pinning them there. I don't care what the punishment is. The only ones allowed to fight in my school are my other personalities and ME D:

For me it'd be more an issue of touching a girl than what it means to get involved in any way. If it happened to me in middle school, I probably wouldn't have had any problem with it. I had once tackled a girl that no one would touch (in part because she was considered ugly), at that time. But by high school I kept to myself and developed a complex over being touched in general.

I guess "do nothing" will be my choice. I'd likely ignore it and keep to myself.

I'd say, talk to them and try to get them to stop that way before doing anything rash like stepping in.

Edit: I think I missed a detail in the original post -- it's implied that others had already tried. In that case, I wouldn't know what to do -- but the best choice, if possible, seems to me to be to create a distraction that gets both of them to stop fighting.

Though, I don't mean anything graphic by "distraction."

I would probably put my arms between them and push them apart. The problem is that the teachers are not allowed to do anything otherwise they may get sued and lose their jobs (or at least thats how it is over here). I rarely talk to anyone anyway so they would not know me and even if they did I wouldn't care if they hated me afterwards...most people at Hornsea school do anyway
