Meet the Spartans

Yes, a new hilarious comedy with spoofs of 300, Spider-Man 3, Britney Spears, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan, Transformers, and American Idol, among others. Kevin Sorbo is in it too.

Xerxestron was cool with movie Megatron's armor and he had a YouTube video of the guy crying "Leave Britney alone !"

"Hilarious?" The whole movie was little more than "LOL penguin shit in ur face!" "LOL those stupid celebrities!" "LOL those funny gays!" repeated over and over. Is this the standard for modern comedy? An hour and a half film that looks like it was taped together in three weeks just to make money off a few contemporary events? The movie will be outdated in three months.

Ugh. This film is one of the worst things I've had to endure in my life. I'm never going to watch a new movie billing itself as a "comedy" again.

Not all comedies are like that these days. ^_^;

Now, while I haven't seen this movie, I know that the same people made Epic movie, which my tolerative, open-minded and easily-humored self considered to be horrible. I don't plan to watch this movie unless it's on a movie channel, I'm bored, there's nothing else on, and feeling that I might as well watch it just so I can know and have a justifiable opinion.

While I like nonsensical spoof movies, there are only a few that I consider to be decent (at the very least) by my standards. As far as I'm aware, I think Wrongfully accused is my favorite movie of this kind. The Scary movie series and the Naked gun series are decent specimens, in my opinion.

But if you're looking for intelligent and structured comedy, I suggest looking up Oscar. It's one of my most favorite movies. That's about all that I can suggest for now.

Now, back to this movie... Like I said, if you saw Epic movie, that's probably a good indicator of what kind of movie Meet the Spartans is going to be. It was the kind of movie that could inspire someone to become a hermit and stick their nose in books all day. ;/

Kevin Sorbo played Hercules in the Hercules: The legendary Journeys, and he had a line about "Going Hercules" on the Persians.

Traitoro was played by the guy from the Drew Carrey show (Lewis, I think). He then turned into the Sandman to spoof Spider-Man 3 to face the black suited Spider-girl (aka Queen Marlo of Sparta, King Leoniadas's wife). The cat used him as a litter box...(LOL).

My favorite part was when a teenage Leonidas was in the wilderness, he found the Subway sandwich and ate it and he says, "No mayo? This is Bullsh*t!"

Oh well, it's from the same people who brought you "Epic Movie."

I personally hate the -movie movies (though they are trying to disguise themselves now). I watched Scary Movie 3 and thought it was bad, but then Date Movie got me to swear off anything those people made.
First they ignore you...
Then they mock you...
Then they fight you...
Then you win

By "those people" you probably mean Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer. They seem to be behind most of these movies, including the latest scary movie. They were also involved with other scary movies but with minor influences it seems. I just don't see how they can keep churning out this crap, though. I've checked all of the movies and it seems that each one they had a major hand in (date movie and epic movie, for instance) has abysmal ratings. And I don't doubt the same for Meet the Spartans.

Depends on the person, I guess. I mean, Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday the Thirteenth didn't get a good rating either, but I find that movie to be amusing. (Mostly because of all of the references it manages to make.) Then again, different people made that one. A lot of the other movies of this type, I've found, have relevant and/or strong connections with each other. So, if it's any consolation, there seems to be only a small crowd of people who make these kind of movies to begin with... And I'd really hate to see this genre get into the major leagues wit these kind of movies leading the way.
