OOC: Update time. This may be a confusing one and it is only half of the event. Here we decide where our characters will go. Will they be hurled into the abyss? or will they cling onto their worlds? That is for you to decide.
The general’s eyes darkened and he simply swung his sword in Mabala’s direction, a pulse of air and energy crushing her attack and knocking her back. Turning around again the man in green hurled his weapon towards the twilight stone. The Master sword slid straight into the hole in the rock effortlessly.
Asylintha’s attack struck the bird in the chest, knocking it back and stunning it but such a blow was not enough to slay the beast. Naarsa hurled his spell shortly after Midna released hers. Both bolted towards the shadow bird at breathtaking speed but it was Midna’s that struck first, annihilating the creature instantly. With no target in front of it Naarsa’s attack it continued to shoot forwards towards the portal stone, landing dead in the centre and vanishing into the depths of the cold rock.
For a second on either side nothing happened. Then, slowly the swords began to absorb the light around them while the portal stone in the twilight emanated with a pale blue glow. The connection was made between the worlds, for this moment alone time ran equal on both sides of the divide. The general put his hands onto the two hilts and took a deep breath before holding his head high and letting out the mighty cry of an unearthly beast. Power flowed through his arms pumping his energy into the stone as the great rock itself was shrouded in darkness. Meanwhile on the other side the light of the portal stone intensified, growing stronger and stronger until Asylintha had to take a step back and shield her eyes. Suddenly there was a crack as both stones, shaking with power, cracked down the middle. The void between worlds was revealed in all its glory as the stones drew everything they could into themselves to try to fill the nothingness they had opened.
Outside the ruins the air hummed and the desert sands stirred into a rippling tide, rolling and swirling like water, dragging many into the depths. At the portal stone the ground shook, torrents of air blistered into the gaping void while rocks from underfoot floated into the air.
The came the noise.
On each side the cacophony was unbearable. The sound was not unearthly. It was the exact opposite. Every sound ever heard by the mortal races of the world assaulted the ears of those present growing louder and louder as more and more matter was plunged into the nothingness that was opened and gaping as a wound in reality itself.
In the halls of light stood the eight wise ones. “The time has come.”
