If I understand things correctly, your overall surfing speed is determined by your computer, your ISP, and the servers. So if you have a service that makes it possible for your computer to utilize more of its power, you'd still be at the mercy of the servers. For a long time, for instance, the MSF forums have been rather slow most of the time. And yet there are plenty of other places that I go to that load in a flash. I imagine, too, that the amount of bandwidth being used in a given area might contribute to slower speeds.
I've had a lot of problems with my Cable service. Much, much too many. I don't think that I would be exaggerating to say that we've had people out here three dozen times within the last five months. The problem always appears to be a mystery. But my mother insists on having the latest and fastest stuff since she can't live without her Second Life. And when I think about it, I can probably trace the problems back to when she first started playing that infernal game.
