OOC: Ok, just one last post for me.
The forest in Sinnoh echoes with the tine of Absol's flute as she wandered aimlessly. She stopped however when she saw someone standing in a clearing in front of her.
"That is a beautiful song" said the figure, it was a man who was all too familiar. "Where did you learn it?"
"I don't know" said Absol, "It's strange but its almost as if the flute is playing me just as much as I am playing it. It doesn't worry me though."
"So where are you going?" asked the Professor
"Somewhere quiet." said Absol, "Somewhere far away from all this strife. Whether I reach it in a day or in a year, I need a place like that to be at peace."
"It sounds nice" said Palm
"So what about you?" asked Absol, "Are you going to collect what's left of the resistance? You know that they need you now more than ever."
"I do not deserve to lead them" said Palm, "The blood of humanity is on my hands. Because of what I did, the human race will be no more."
"Perhaps" said Absol, "But what did you make that stuff for? To help people, to cure those who had no hope. Just because someone has abused your creation, doesn't mean you can't still use it for the purpose you made it for."
"But because of me, Tina, Aiko, Erin, all of you have been robbed of who you were and dragged into this conflict."
"You are a fool." said Absol, "You did none of that, that was the work of a power-hungry lunatic. Just because he managed to get the blame shifted over to you in the other's eyes doesn't mean that they are right."
"But..." said the Professor, "What I did back then was wrong."
"So what?" said Absol, "Both me and Tina have done terrible things, things that would have us locked up for life. I killed my own father in cold blood, even though the punishment is different to what it would have been in human society, I am still a murderer. In a fit of fear and sadness, Tina burned down the children's home she grew up in, with everyone still inside. We don't know what happened to those caught in the blaze, but at the worst, she killed at least a dozen people. We both know this but rather than sit and brood over it, we continued living. Compare your so-called sins to what we have done and think if you still don't deserve the chance to make things right."
Before Palm answered, Absol turned away and continued to walk. As the song started to play once more, she looked back at the silent grove and saw no-one there, just to moonlight, shining through the trees.
