OOC: Oh great gods of RPness, bring this thread back from the dead.....no? Well, I'm doing it anyway. Sorry bout the long outage, I lost the mood for the thing for a while.

As the attacks impact on the beast, it stops in it's tracks, shuddering as a web of cracks spread all along it until it burst apart, leaving noting but a pale pool of light on the floor where it once stood.

"Yeah!" yelled Garath, "We got it!"

"Good job everyone" said Landara

"It's not over yet." said Naarsa, "They are still there."

As the group looked nervously, the pool rippled as something seemed to form inside it. In a sudden flash of movement, a huge arm burst out, dragging itself up and bringing its warped body with it. Even though the first arm was powerful and strong, the other was torn off at the shoulder, a stump hanging ragged where its arm had once been.

Naarsa threw her blade at the forming beast and hit it straight in the chest. However, even as the area around the wound twisted as it was drawn in, the rest resisted. Landara notched her bow and fired an arrow only for it to pass right through.

"That won't work" said Naarsa, "it has no form, only magic can deal with it now."

She pulled something out of a pouch at her belt and clasped it in her hands. Focusing her mind, she poured power into the artifact she held.

"Forbidden Art; Golden Spear." her voice seemed to echo and when she opened her eyes they had turned completely black. She raised her right hand and in a flash a bright golden lance appeared. She swung her arm and the lance hurtled forwards, piercing the beast through the malformed face and destroying it completely. With the head gone, the body collapsed and was quickly consumed by the ancient blade lodged in it's chest.

The colour returned to Naarsa's eyes as she crumpled to the floor in exhaustion.

"Is it dead?" asked Garath, unsure as Landara hurried to Naarsa's side.

"Yes" she said, "It's gone."

Asylintha blinks at her and growls punching her into the wall. " you know that Spell is forbidden!"

"But it worked didn't it?" said Naarsa, "I've been learning light magics for years. I thought they would work better here than our spells would have."

"They're only forbidden because it's dangerous to use them" said Naarsa, "but if I studied them, I thought perhaps I could find a way to make them safe."

Naarsa didn't answer as Landara stepped forward and broke the pair up

"Ok you two" she said, "I don't know what's going on here but even if whatever Naarsa did was forbidden, it save us here. It think you should at least refrain from giving her a hard time over that."

Slowly, Naarsa wandered over and picked up her knife. There was still the emptiness from before but it seemed satisfied, for now.

The next passage seemed to lead through a broken stone door. It led down a slope as a cool draft floated upwards.

"So um what are we supposed to do now? It is quite boring now that we defeated the attacker." Alana said as she followed the others.

OOC: Short pause here. Before we go any further, I would like to give you all an invite. As you all know, the Zelda games always have a load of item with special uses and so on. So, what items of this sort can you think of? If you come up with anything at any time, just PM me.

OOC: Sorry for the delay, but I've been trying to think of the best way to write a dungeon such as those in the Zelda games but with my skills I really can't do it justice. To fix this I shall make a skip to the end of the dungeon and to the chamber of the elders. Prepare to make your own fights in a bit and make them good.

The journey through the ruins was long and hard. Traps, enemies, puzzles, all were found along the route. Whoever had built this pace obviously did not want anyone to get through here easily. Along the way, the group came across an ancient armory. Nearly everything in there was unusable but on the wall in disturbingly pristine condition was a bow. Power seemed to trace along the intricate carving of it and it was strung with a string that was enchanted to never break or degrade. Eventually, it was decided that Mabala should take it. (Dark came up with it, Dark gets it.)
Eventually, fatigued and hungry, the group made their way up a staircase into a large dark room, lit dimly by a line of torches running around the wall. At the far end was a gathering of people, one of which stood forwards and was recognised in an instant.

"So you made it then" said the Elder, "I'm almost impressed, not you have earned the right for the next trial."

"Yeah" said Garath, "All we have to do is beat you and we're free to leave."

"Yes" said the Elder, "However, you should know that we have guards here for a reason. You will have to go through them first." she gestured to a group of seven Gerudo fighters standing at the ready. At the Elder's signal, they all stepped forward and formed a line. "As you are fighting under our terms, we shall be generous and allow you to select your opponent. You may choose one each, beat them and you may try to take on myself."

She stepped back and all seven of her fighters drew their weapons.

"Begin!" she called.

OOC: Ok, guys. You can choose your opponent, her weapon and her fighting style. However, remember these are highly trained warriors so they will not go down easy. This is also part of a little test on my part which I shall tell you the results and meaning of afterwards. Have fun!

EDIT: Ok, I had a talk with dark and it seems that my post was rather vague. The plan here is for you guys to write these one-on-one fights when you control both sides. This is 1. for the fun of it, and 2. it is that experiment I mentioned earlier, but this time I shall tell you it is to do with the quality of the fights when done in different ways.
EDIT 2: Added something I had forgotten about

ooc: no i'm not doing a story based post when all we did was turn based. You controlled them in all the past fights you can continue controlling them its your job as a gm to control the villains.

Mabala shakes her head playing with her new bow. " Its not right I can't fight my own sisters. It goes against the very teachings you yourself taught me elder and would be a stain to my honor."

Asylintha looks at Mabala. " She right she is my sister in a way and i feel her pain. Its not right to make her fight her own."

OOC: I agree with Star-Chan. You need to control the villains.

"So um what are we like supposed to do now?" Alana asks curiously.

OOC: oh come on people, be sports. It's not that difficult to write something like this. Here, let me show you one, this took me half an hour at the most.

Garath looked at the line of Gerudo. All of them looked tough and particularly dangerous, so he picked one at random. The girl who stepped forwards, bowed and motioned for him to do the same, allowing the duel to start. As soon as the ritual was complete, the girl revealed a suwayah which Garath only just managed to dodge. Not wasting any time, he drew his blades and slashed with the right only for it to be blocked. With a quick twist the girl span her weapon and wrenched Garath's blade from his grasp.

Quickly stepping back, Garath shifted the remaining sword in his hand. All the Gerudo were skilled but this girl was something else. She was faster, stronger, more skillful and possessing for far more discipline. In order to beat her he would have to fight with everything he had, and more.

The torches in the room reflected off his opponent's highly polished blade and his own, discarded sword, casting rays of light across the space between the dueling pair which stirred something in his very soul. Taking a single bound forwards, Garath moved like he had never done before and came to rest on the illumination. Surprised by the impossible footwork, the Gerudo girl faltered and gave Garath the chance he needed. Hurtling forward he smashed the flat of his sword against the girl's katar, sending shocks up her arm and allowing him to disarm her with a quick kick. Garath held the point of his sword to the back of his opponent's neck, finishing the duel as the girl kneeled in defeat.
