Amy lowers her head so he can't see her face and backs away. "I'm sorry." She then turns and feels along the wall for the door before sliding it open and removing her shoes.

/The whole thing here...it was almost unreal, really. Carl listened to the rules, filing them away in the back of this head, while shuffling onward.
The comment 'time is short seemed a bit odd to him, as well as the idea of survival of the fittest...but the man seemed to be about as grumpy as they came--maybe he could ask more later when he was in a better mood.
Either way, he could usually handle himself well enough--he had some experience, and the weight of the sculptor's clay in his backpack reassured him to that fact.
Taking the clumsy girl's distraction of the man as his cue, Carl quickly dodged through the crowd, looking for his room./

Carl and Noah would, assuming they paid a modicrum of attention to the numerous doors around the hallway, find themselves at the same room, at approximately the same time. On the door, painted quite blatantly in a firey red, where their names. One below the other. Below those names was a third: Ian Spade.
Hmm.... Does anyone actually read these anyway?

Amy felt her way through the building, making certain not to break anything or ortherwise desecrate the structure in which she would be staying. She was still blushing under her bandages from embarrassment of asking a stupid question.

She had folded up her cane and put it on a hook on her belt so it wouldn't hit anything important. She's relying on her hands now. She does seem to be going in circles, though...

Sandra notices Amy wandering about and walks over to her. "Can I help you, miss?"

Amy stops and instinctively turns her head halfway toward Sandra, still blushing. "Um... yes. Could you, uh... help me find my room...? I can't see..."

She gestures to the bandages on her eyes.

"Of course. My name is Sandra Drake. What is yours, so that I might help you locate your room?"

She pauses, as if processing the question, or trying to think of a plausible lie. Her heritage gets the better of her, however.

"My name is Amethyst, but everyone just calls me Amy. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Drake."

Chione had been quiet through all these proceedings. This place is hardcore. It reminded her of a distinctly Spartan academy in one of her father's novels.... That had been for swordsmen, admittedly. But the principle was sound. In the book, rules had been broken, or at least bent. Or treated as negotiable. That worked in fiction, because it made a good story. It could always be excused in some way. She had the feeling that it wouldn't be the case here.
But now she had to find her room. Did they have roommates? Hopefully her own wouldn't object to large amounts of dragon paraphernalia.... Whoever she was. She made her way to the corridor, searching. There was a girl who looked very nervous, holding on to the wall.... Another girl was talking to her. Clearing her throat, she approached. "Excuse me," she said quietly. "But are you both all right? Do you need a hand?"

"Okay Amy, I'll try to help you find your room." Noticing Chione walking up to them, she turns to her. "I was going to help her look for her room as well as searching for my own. You can come along too, two sets of eyes are better than one after all."

Amy looks very relieved, even more than before, though still a bit guilty, holding on to her guide's shoulder like a lifeline. "I would really appreciate all the help I can get. Thank you, both."

By chance, or more properly synchronicity, Sandra and Chione would soon locate Amys room. In fact, it was their room as well.

"You're more than welcome. I'm glad to help," Chione replied with a small smile. "We'll all get to know this place together." She moved down the hall at a slow pace, watching the numbers carefully. "Oh, here we are!... Oh, it seems we're roommates, from the sign on the door! Amethyst... you said that's you, right?... And there's me.... And a Sandra Blake. Do you know her?" She looked at the other two, realizing belatedly she and the third girl had never properly introduced themselves.
