Second time teleporting. Status: still awful.
If there was a diagnostic program built into his head, that would be the message Casey would have been given. On the plus side, it was a bit quicker for him to be able to tell that his skeleton was indeed, still inside him. Next to him, Serene was making up to resume her nuzzling (is she really this quick to trust?) and was showing an annoying and enviable lack of ill effects. Did pokemon have some sort of natural adaption to this kind of travel? Did he even want to know? It was doubtful that he would find the answer though.
A sudden motion in front of him caught his attention. It was at that time he noticed he was standing right in front of his house. Inside, the curtains fluttered as he saw someone dash away and into the room, heading in the direction of the front door.
wonderful thought Casey, and here I was planning to walk in as though everything was normal and try to break all info to her quickly.
The front door burst open as Casey's mum cannoned through, embracing him in a hug.
"Oh, thank goodness you're safe!" she gasped, "I was getting worried something would happen to you."
"Mum. Public place and embarrassing." said Casey
"I'm your mother." said his mother, "I have the right to worry about you and to embarrass you in front of........" she looked at Aiko, "Who is this?"
"She's someone I met at the city." said Casey, "Aiko meet my mum, mum meet strange bird lady and self-proclaimed goddess, Aiko."
"Goddess?" asked his mum
"I'm guessing that it is a long and doubtful story." said Casey, "One which I am trying to suppress my moronic curiosity over."
At that moment, Serene popped her head over Casey's shoulder; almost giving his mum a heart attack in the process. What was odd was that after the initial surprise, the pair of them looked at each other. It was almost as if you could see the camera jumping between the pair of them....and it was sort of creepy. At last, Casey's mum broke the silence.
"Aww! She's adorable!" she cried, "Can we keep her? Please?"
The puppy dog eyes on the woman's face were so big that anyone who would have pointed out the contradiction would be melted on the spot. To the side of her, Serene also wore the same expression. In the face of a bombardment of this magnitude, Casey took the only option available to him, he gave up. With a face-palm that would put most others to shame, he started back towards the house, preparing himself for the night ahead. He did not know whether it was his mum's skitty side that put her in these hyper and childish moods, or whether it just exaggerated them; either way, she would probably be tail chasing for most of the evening.
