Now, if you read a certain post concerning particular details (or even in a later post in this very topic), please don't take that into consideration. Unless you joined MSF on the day that you saw this poll, in which case, had you seen it, you'd be one lucky son of a gender-confused gun. Or something like that.

Anyway, to the point of this poll.

MSF has a past. MSF has a reason for being here, then and now. However, when you joined, was it obvious what the connection was between its theme and its name? And if you know now, how long before you knew what should be known right away?

We-ell then, if I remember rightly, it was based off of an old story, right? I dun know who wrote it, but I ran across it some time ago on an unrelated story site. When I eventually made may way to MSF, I believe that there was some mention of the story somewhere in the main page, (my memory is a bit fuzzy on this), so I connected the two of them, and later one when i eventually came to the forums, (it did not occur to me for some time to even take a glance at the forums for some reason), I found no real trace of any connection, so I figured that it had grown...less important to the site as a whole

I think it was on the site around the time you came around, although it was replaced when I began to make those contests. I figured it was among the other stories in the now-archived site, but it seems not to be the case.

Where'd you find the story at? Even back when I found it at Fictionmania, it was old and buried, where the conventional search couldn't reach it. (If I remember correctly, anyway.)

Aha! That was it. I read it at fictionmania, back when i still looked there, occasionally. i think it may have been on the site too, though.

I know of the past that's past, and knew of such since I joined, and chatted with Yumi a couple of times along with the original Lady Sakura way back when.

I knew the general purpose of the site before joining; I originally found the place via a random character-generator meme thing, and lurked around playing with the Changing Room for a while before drifting into participation via an art contest. I saw the original story some time after that, though.

I put down "I've been around for years, but I did not find out right away," but I think I misunderstood the question. "I've been around for years, though it took me a while to find out" would probably be more accurate.

I've had an account on MSF since 2005, although I lurked for a little while before that. I didn't know anything about the story for at least two years, maybe longer. I didn't find out about it until I stumbled across it on Fictionmania one day. I think I was browsing through some stories and happened to catch a glimpse of the familiar title. After reading it and noting its age, I realized that it must have been the story that started this site. I still don't know much about MSF's founding and early history, though.
