Where have I been?

For those of you who dont frequent the FFRP rooms, and have been wondering where I have been, well a few things have happened lately...

Work, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Sister coming home for a visit...

All of these distracted me, but I never came to the point where I was going to go into a full recession like last time...

Those who have been around long enough know what I am talking about. I tend to do things in cycles. I start something... then do it more and more and more... until I reach a zenith. Then I usually stop doing it altogether for about... half a year.

Thats what happened last time I went AWOL. XD

ANYWAY I was determined to not let that happen again. Breaking the cycle and all that. Because you guys are too much fun to spurn >.>

And this brings me to the kicker. About oh... say four days ago I went to get on my laptop for some hardcore Muffin Room catching up... and... KERFLOOIE!

My laptop=PWNED.

Of course it took a few days to completely die... it was drawn out, poor thing. In any case... full-scale posting like I did before aint gonna happen till it I get whatever is wrong with it fixed. But I will still post... on my Dad's desktop. Course I can only use it when he isnt... which is like... while he is asleep (like now) or at work. Cause the guy plays online MMORPG's like a crack addict.

The suck part about it is that in the morning and evenings like... now. I am dead tired. And I cant do any good thinking, imagining, or writing when I am such. Well sometimes I can... but only rants like this one. Making 20+ posts a night while tired cant work for me.

So... the short and long of it is dont think I have given up on you guys, cause I havent. I just need the MEANS to resume my posts of terror. As soon as my laptop is functional I will get back to work...

Now, if I was smart I would go through this and cut about half of it... which isnt important stuff at all but just my mindless rambling. But I am feeling too tired to even do that. So I will inflict its full unedited wrath of rant on you... hope you enjoyed it. ^_~

I have full sympathy for computer issues, seeing as I just had some that kept me away resolved, myself. Best of luck in getting that repaired, for sure! Then we can lasso and hog-tie you and make you stay here.

Oh I am very happy to be back... I dont know what I would do without this place to vent my creative insanity...

This... monumentally sucks. You dont even know...

Not only did my laptop break itself AGAIN! It did it the second before I hit submit after spending like ten minutes making up a post in the FFRP room. I am now on my dad's computer since he is alseep... and I am not happy. Oh not happy at all...

I had thought it was fixed... I could spend a lot more time here... now THIS crap happens. And I bet tommorrow morning will be filled with lamentations, cussing, and agony as we try to figure out how to fix my laptop... again.

At this point, I am seriously considering buying a new one and selling the old. Or maybe breaking it down for parts.

I feel betrayed... my laptop betrayed me... It gave me a afternoon of fun just so it would be that much more painful when it wrenched it away again in one swift moment. Its like it chose the exact moment to cause the most pain and suffering from me...

Anyway... with that rant out of my system I can finish up a few posts here tonight then cry myself to sleep.

I feel much better now... Its a brand new day, with the prospects of a brand new... computer.

We established that within 90% probability my video card is to blame for all my lamentations. Then we found out that getting a replacement video card is... all but impossible. They just dont SELL them.

So the only ones I could get are the ones from other peoples laptops... and those cards are costing people around $400 each.

And since a brand new laptop just as good as mine could be found around that price (on sale) it soon became obvious that fixing it would be more costly than just replacing the whole thing.

So...

I am now in the market for a new computer! And after this fiasco, I am heavily leaning towards a desktop. Since you can fix and even upgrade those whenever you want... And the fact they are cheaper than laptops and all this is going to be coming out of my own pocket.

So probably within a week from now I will have my new computer. Then I will truely be back for good...

Don't approach an eMachines computer with anything shorter than a 200 feet long stick.

No. Not long enough. It has to be at least a football field, preferably one and a half. And then it has to be disinfected afterwards. And you have to be wearing a HazMat suit...
