IQ test

Does anyone know a good one online? I'm bored, and curious about what one would say.

Hmmmm. I got a 127 there. I suppose that's average, or something.

It said I was a visionary philosopher, which primarily seemed to indicate that I was good at the mathematical and linguistics portions of the test. O.o And there was something about being able to see patterns, which seems to tie into the mathematics.

I'm not sure what to make of it. I guess I could be considered a visionary, and I suppose I am a philosopher, but I would never say that I was good at mathematics and linguistics. In the case of mathematics, I hardly remember anything beyond the basics. And too many people misunderstand/don't understand what I say for me to be good at linguistics. ;/

127 falls under Superior, which is above High Average, so you're above above Average :O

I got very superior, how about that, yay 98%+ percentile - "Facts Curator"

Tickle.com wrote:Like a meticulous collector, you've fed your brain a unique set of facts and figures over the years. Words, numbers, you've got it all. That's what makes you a Facts Curato

Whether or not you intend to absorb every piece of information that comes your way, your mind has certain steel-trap qualities to it. You are a knowledge sponge. You have almost enough words in your head to fill a dictionary, and you're equally adept when it comes to manipulating numbers. You can also detect important patterns in number sequences, and probably remember the mnemonic devices you were taught in grade school. You may feel comfortable in classroom settings where absorbing details is critical. You're also able to learn from example and piece together all the little facts in life to get to the big picture. That's why you never stop accumulating information as you walk through life.

Superior, huh. What does 117 fall under, then? That's what my mother got, and I consider her a dunce in most respects. Maybe it's just the test, since my sister got 117, too, and I know she's smarter than our mother.

Still, how is this high average, superior, and very superior measured? I can't say I've ever seen a chart, or anything like that.

117 falls under high average.

its a bell curve.

100 represents the "average" score, with 90 to 110 being the average range. I'm copying this from tickle.com cause its easier than remember statistics, but then again, this is what I remember. neat

"High Average" is 1 standard deviation away from Average, Superior being 2, Very Superior being 3 SDs.

Bell curves are the belle of the ball. Which is an awesome joke of sweetness.

Anyway, I also took a quiz to see which cartoon show I was, and I got this one:

Aqua Teen Hunger Force

You're so weird...err...we mean interesting! No one ever seems to know what you're going to do next, but everyone wants to be there to see it. Even though you might seem normal, you've got a lot going on in that head of yours. So whether you're cooking up crazy schemes, being a little random, or telling a strange story, you're probably moving down the road less traveled.

Sure, you might be a little difficult to read, but you generally know exactly what you're doing. It takes brains and courage to say on the edge, and you've got more than enough of both!

It's crazy. Your perceptions of me are effecting my quiz results! U_U

It's the same site you posted. ;p It was the featured poll at the time. I tried to look for it, but I couldn't find it. ;/

138; a bit lower then I usually do; but it wasn't in a structured environment so I guess it seems accurate enough.

And visionary philosopher.

Of course; given how poorly we understand intelligence; IQ is a relatively meaningless number. The test, for example, used several addages that people raised in a certain culture would be much more likely to know, then those raised in other environments.

As for the category, it seems fairly interesting; but I'd be curious to see the research on the validity of testing ability as opposed to preference like, say the Myers-Briggs test does.
Hmm.... Does anyone actually read these anyway?

Hm.. seems I scored about 16 points less than I usually do but I got 127 as well. However I believe that result was from one more like what Shadell is talking about. Pity I've never been able to find that one again.

I'll cop to the lazy part as I've always been that. Never studied a day in my life after I got out of third grade and was in the top 10 all my life in school. I think I graduated at 8th I think and that angered me because I had been 4th just the year before. Apparently they all decided to work harder while my back was turned.

I feel dumb.

IQ: 122
Insightful Linguist. (A long time ago, when I first took this, I was a Linguistic Architecht)

You are gifted with the natural fluency of a writer and the visual and spatial strengths of an artist. Those skills contribute to your creative and expressive mind.

Insightful linguists can take complex concepts and articulate them to just about anyone. You have a gift with words and insight into processes and the way people think. These talents enable you to explain things clearly to people. Helen Keller is a great example of an Insightful Linguist. Blind, deaf and mute, she was still able to put things together in her mind and to understand complex ideas. She could do that because she was able to conceptualize ideas internally. Though she could not literally see, she had the visual and spatial skills necessary to understand patterns on an abstract level. She learned to read, write and ultimately became a writer on issues of social justice.

You have an uncanny ability to work your way out of sticky situations using your talent with words. Crossword puzzles, debates — you're particularly well equipped to come out on top since you can read people well.

Like Charles Dickens, your verbal skills go far beyond having a good vocabulary. Dickens' genius was in the artful and descriptive way he crafted sentences. Also Dickensian, is your keen eye for detail and your adeptness for identifying the best way to express an idea based on your given surroundings and circumstances.

Your ability to communicate your vision clearly will take you far. So enjoy being perceptive, and make the most of your abilities as an insightful linguist.

Yeah, right.

I feel left out. Well, then.

IQ: 127

Visionary Philosopher

Your mind's strengths allow you to think ahead of the game — to imagine or anticipate what should come next in just about any situation. Because you're equally skilled in the numerical and verbal universes of the brain, you can draw from multiple sources of information to come up with great ideas. The timelessness of your vision and the balance between your various skills are what make you a Visionary Philosopher.

In addition to your strengths in math and linguistics, you have a knack for matching and anticipating patterns. These skills and your uncanny ability to detect the underlying blueprint of most of life's situations add to your Visionary Philosopher mind. Two philosophers who share the same combination of skills you possess are Plato and Benedict Spinoza. Spinoza had insight into how things worked in the world. He could envision a future based on the patterns he saw in life, and used mathematical logic as a structure within which to present his philosophical arguments. With that base he was able to use logic to formulate his theories. Borrowing from his linguistic strengths he wrote eloquent texts and, therefore, was able to bring his philosophical ideas and structure to the rest of the world. His story exemplifies the talents that are present in the Visionary Philosopher intellectual type.

Whatever you decide to do in life, you've got a powerful mix of skills and insight that can be applied in a wide variety of ways. You can expand your mind to understand a situation. Your strong balance of math and verbal skills will help you explain things to others. For example, if you were on an archaeological dig and discovered an object, you could probably use your deductive powers to figure out not only what the object was but also how it was used. Given your ability to put things together, you are more than capable of inventing a life plan that is in synch with your perspective on how things were, how they are, and how they might be one day.

There we go. Now I'm in the in-crowd. Fancy that. ;p
