Haylie's blasphemy!

Postby Mitera Nikkou » Sat Dec 06, 2008 2:19 am

Haylie wrote:^Should know puns are the lowest form of comedy, unless you're the one using them.

Blasphemy, I say! Blasphemy!

I'll have you know that a pun can be just as good as a double entendre. :P

All people that are right are wrong. The election provededed it. :P

Also, wordplay can be more tricky than a punchline. Especially since wordplay can be punchlines. Wordplay can require a lot of creativity, understanding and insight. You can spin a wicked web, and turn normal-looking sentences into comedic art.

You just don't understand it, is all. I suggest you get to know it better, like I did. It's a lot of fun.

Haylie is completely misinformed, Puns are not a form of comedy they are actually a form of Tragedy... since they are murderous methods of torture outlawed in most civilized countries.

That's one other way to put it, I suppose.

Monty Python must have used a pun, for the funniest joke in the world. ;p

It's not a matter of betraying you, but of not wanting to betray an expression within language. People like to demonize one sort and praise another, but to each do they find their place, even if they're denied it. Expressions are ultimately freed from the constraints of perception and opinion.

I actually have to be the neutral party on this one. It really depends on how you view it. Puns can be funny, but a lot of the time, they're God-awful.
