There was a short silence over the intercom before the reply came.
"Proceed" said the voice, "You shall be collected by an escort shortly."
With a click the automatic lock on the large (more than bullet-proof) glass double-door disengaged, allowing the visitor access.
The small house on the hill was quiet as Spi and Tina sat in silence at the table. It had been on Spi's insistence that the state of hush was started when Absol had got up and left for her room. This went on for about a minute until a single sound softly flowed through the air. It was the note of an instrument, the tune from which was a mystifying tune that held a great depth of sorrow and wisdom. It was a song that rang through the ages, calling up memories of a world long past, before the expanse of man's empire; a world of wondrous, but lonesome beauty.
The song rolled from the house and onto the empty hillside, before being swallowed by the random noises of the town.
"What is that?" wondered Tina
"Shh" said Spi softly, "They're singing."
"They?"
The sounds of music reached he ears of the two approachers as Casey and Paul ascended the hill below Absol's home.
"Such a wondrous sound...." said Casey
"We should wait a few minutes" said Paul
"Why?" asked Casey, "What is making that tune?"
"Believe me" said Paul, "It would be rude to interrupt."
