Your top three manga

Postby Mitera Nikkou » Mon Dec 22, 2008 10:08 am

As stated in a similar topic, might as well since it hasn't been done in a while. My top three are:

Dragon Half
Aa! Megami-sama!
Ranma 1/2
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned because only women can give two tits for every tat.

Hrm... Lemme see...
Perhaps:
1. Deathnote
2. Naruto
3. Full Metal Alchemist

Other notables include Bleach and Battle Royale (Though I believe the later could do without some of the more explicit content).

This is honestly tougher on me than with anime, because I read a LOT of anime...

Regardless, the ones I've enjoyed for a while now (and will continue to enjoy) are probably:
D. Gray-man
Hellsing
History's Greatest Disciple Kenichi

1st 2nd 3rd, in that order. All are very fun manga to read, and I recommend them to anyone.

Hmm....

Berserk
Ranma 1/2
Bleach
O Muse!
Sing in me, and through me tell the story
Of that man skilled in all the ways of contending,
A wanderer, harried for years on end...

Easy enough...

1- Naruto (even more now than ever! Pain kicks ass)
2- Pretty Face (WHY DID THEY CANCEL YOU?! WHY!?!>?!!? *sobs* )
3- Bleach (If it doesn't get more interesting it might lose it's 3rd position to Change123 )
"Let me confirm, your shelter shield is activated?"
"What are you planning?!"
"Your shelter is secure, is it?"
"Of course it is! Just see for yourself how powerless you are!"
"...Roger that."

Hmm...

1- Houshin Engi - Somewhat older manga but I like the story to it.
2- Loveless - Sure it's Shonen-ai but I really like the story to it.
3- Shiki Tsukai - I liked the idea of them using the seasons as a storyline idea.

1. King of Bandit Jing, full stop. A triumph of surrealism, touting a perfect blend of action and humour and a sense of magic you just don't get from any ol' comic or manga.
2. 20th Century Boys. Seriously, 20th Century Boys. Death Note's got nothing on this s@!%
3. BLAME! Horrifyingly beautiful. 'Nuff said.

In no definite order, it would be:

Unbalance X Unbalance
To Love Ru
Kaikan Phrase

also another one that would make the list if the thing actually had more than 11 chapters out so far:
Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen

Yay ~

I've never really watched anime, clueless about Japanese culture in general, but did go trhough a phase of being very addicted to manga.

In random order..

Kare Kano
Tramps Like Us
Kodocha

Er.. and has a back-up top three!

Mars
Paradise Kiss
Cardcaptor Sakura

In no particular order:

Minto na Bokura: Brother with a sister complex follows his sister who's gone off to a boarding school to chase after the guy she likes. The only free room is in the girls' dorm... Fairly cliché setting, but it makes excellent use of every aspect, resulting in an involving and evolving story that quickly becomes more than just another crossdressing manga: a deliquent roommate, becoming best buddies with a guy (when everyone thinks of you as a girl... and much more.

Love Hina: should need no introduction.

Ouran High School Host Club: poor scholarship student Haruhi breaks a vase worth a prodigious amount of money and is then made to pay it off with his body.. by joining the host club! Did I mention Haruhi is actually a girl?
