As the three spoke they changed subtly. The changes were, so minor as to be unnoticeable, rather, all three would find themselves caring slightly more about such sentiments. The idea of having a cute maid all to himself would briefly entertain both men, moreso than it would have normally.

Ookalf wrote:*Ahley mutters something about perverts.*

Ashley would indeed find herself irritated at the three. Such immodest actions simply aren't right. Of course, like with the others, the thought while not exactly passing, was from dramatic enough to evoke notice. It seemed perfectly natural in context.

Lawrence waited a few more minutes then nodded. "Very well." He produced a large silver bell and rang it. Much as others had requested, several 'cute maids' entered from a side door. Their uniforms were rather classical in appearance, and while they varied in age, size, hair color, etc. it did in fact seem like Sampson had taken looks as a major prerequisite for hiring any domestic servant.

Lawrence coughed once. "If you would be so kind as to show these guests to their rooms." The maids, whose numbers mirrored the contestants exactly, nodded and led their respective competitor down a maze of hallways, that seemed almost too large to fit inside the actual mansion. The paths would diverge fairly early on, so none of the contestants would reliably be able to find their way to any of the others' rooms.

Each contestants room was identical. A simple yet elegant bed dominated one wall, with a walk in closet on another, and a door to a bathroom and shower area on the third wall. There were cabinets with various comforts such as coffee and a stacked minibar. Lastly there was a relatively normal table. Each contestant would find a letter and a box.

Every letter, despite being handwritten, was the same, and bore the same signature, that of the millionaire whom used to own the mansion.

"Hello again. I've decided to let you in on the real method of this competition. Sure you could sit and argue over the table for seven days; or you could backstab each other and seize the money that way. Both of those are far too pedestrian for my tastes, so I've decided to create a third path, one that will allow you to eliminate your competition without murdering them. Neither will any legal authority be able to trace this method. I immensely doubt any of you with a remote chance at winning will believe me when I write this; but, that method is magic. Yes, magic. It is real, I assure you. In fact, this mansion itself is the subject of an enchantment, a rather amusing one if I do say so myself.

People are always judged by their actions, their words, their dress. We look at these things and create our perceptions about others through them. Now, those very things will have the opposite effect. If you act smart, you may become smart, if you look like a punk you will become one. The third method is this, use the resources I gave you to manipulate the others, they do know of this by the way, into acting in such a way as to become unable to press their claim. Make them too young, too dumb, make them love you so much they give you all their support. I don't care how; manipulate this enchantment by manipulating others' actions.

To do this, and to prove my point, I have given you two tools. One of them is the maid who showed you into this room. If you wish to go somewhere in the facilities, she will lead you there. Ask her to do something and she will. Anything. You will find she is perfectly loyal to your every whim. The second tool lies in the box near this letter. This box contains either a ring, a choker, or a pen. Each has different abilities. I suggest you explore to discover those abilities yourselves."
Hmm.... Does anyone actually read these anyway?

Emil blushed as his maid guided him to his new room, trying to resist the urge to look to obvious that he enjoyed watching her. His eyes fixed on her skirt trying find just the right angle everytime she took a step. He was by some standards a grown up, but not man enough to talk to such a beauty. The walk to the room was silent. When his maid opened the door, he entered and read the letter. He at first though that would be imposible, but rather a guide to help win. "So he wants us to manipulate one another...".He sat on the beds edge with the box. Emil opened it to find a ring. Mustering some courage to talk to the cute maid. "Heh, can't belive the old man belived in magic" he said as he looked at the ring from the box.

"Let me confirm, your shelter shield is activated?"
"What are you planning?!"
"Your shelter is secure, is it?"
"Of course it is! Just see for yourself how powerless you are!"
"...Roger that."

After entering the room, Jim looked around and found the box and letter. After reading, he opened the box and found a ring. He took it out and examined it, and after a moment slipped it on. He then sat on the bed. If I'm to believe that letter, then this old man went to alot of trouble to set all of this up, and it'll be even harder to win if magic is involved. All the more reason to try and get some allies in this thing.

Jacob grins as the maid escorts him to his room, finding he was enjoying her company more than he had expected he would. He gets there and sits on his bed, not opening the letter yet.

To the Maid. "This place looks huge... do you have enough staff to clean it? If you ever need help you could ask me... I'm not bad when it comes to house maintenance, and it might be a nice way to see you more often..."

Sure it wasnt the best pickup line... but what the hell. He had used worse ones.

*Ashley reads the letter and looks to her maid.* Mr. Sampson wasn't particularly senile toward the end, was he?

*Eric finds the box with a note on it. He begins to read the note as he opens the box revealing the ring. He puts it on.*

"So, how am I going to manipulate one of the others?"

*Eric sits on his bed and thinks he then looks toward the maid.*

"Say Ma'am could you please get me some Dr. Pepper please?"

Emil's maid, she had honey blonde hair and a voluptuous figure, nodded. "If you say so sir."

Jim would note a strange distortion as he slipped the ring on. The sensation was unlike anything he had ever experienced before; as if he was suddenly using some new sense he had never had before, albeit one that wasn't really giving him any input at the moment.

The maid, a tall tan girl with long black hair, glanced at Jacob cautiously... "Sir... There are more than enough workers here, though, once if you inherit the grounds you could do so if you wished but... while you don't own the building as of yet, you do own me at the moment. She blushed a bit as she realized how she'd phrased that. "T-t-that it is to say that I'm for your personal use... I mean, I'm going to be around whenever you wish for me to be around." She sighed, giving up at explaining herself without it ending up in innuendo.

"Just read the letter... sir." She managed at last, blushing furiously.

Jacob may have been distracted by the subtle changes coursing through him as he spoke. The desire to clean and maintain the house would feel perfectly natural, along with the incredibly slight desire to obey any 'master' of the house. These urges were not, as of yet, controlling or even at the forefront of his personality. But he would find himself noticing messes more than he usually did.

Amanda Aerina Adams wrote:*Eric smiles at the maid as they enter his room.*

The maid blushed bright pink at Eric's words. It shone incredibly well on her pale skin. "Thank you sir." She seemed to be quite shy.

Ookalf wrote:*Ashley reads the letter and looks to her maid.* Mr. Sampson wasn't particularly senile toward the end, was he?

Ashley's maid, one of asian descent, shook her head. "No ma'am. He was not senile to my knowledge."

Eric would feel a strange distortion as he seemed to develop a new sense, one that wasn't telling him anything at the moment.

The maid nodded. "Right away sir." She turned to one of the cabinets, and in a few moments returned with a glass of Dr. Pepper in an expensive looking glass.

Not really the impression you'd get reading this. *Ashley opens the box and inspects the choker within.*

He smiles at her. "Of course..."

He opens the letter and begins reading...

Finishing, he folds it again and looks at the girl.

"Well... thats certainly something... So your my personal maid, hmm? Well I hope you can be less my servant and more my friend. Money is at stake here... and money tends to bring out the ugly side of people. And when things get ugly it would be nice knowing there is at least someone I can talk to who is not caught up in all the scheming..."

"Whats your name..?"

He would get around to asking about the... other odd things in the letter later. As for the changes, he manages not to notice them while his attention is on the cute maid.

Jim raises an eyebrow at the strange sensation he gets upon putting on the ring. Hr turns to his maid, whom he hadn't really talked to since meeting her. "Do you know anything about all of this magic jazz that the old man wrote about in this letter?" he asked her. If she does know, then I may get some useful info. If nothing else, it's at least worth asking.

"Uhh... yeah..." replies Emil as he puts the ring on. Since there's nothing else to-do he thought of starting some small talk with his cute maid. "Soo..." he said as he scratched his head. "How long have you worked here?

/Reading the note, Will pauses...and then starts over, reading it again./

"This...this is ludicrous!"

/Lapsing into silence for a moment, he speaks once more./

"Then again...Everything here is...Like right out of a book..."

/Stills thinking apparently, he takes the pencil out of the box...and inspects it critically, before turning to the maid./

"What do you know about this...?"

/He pauses./

"Any of it. Or all of it, maybe."

/He motions to the pencil, and the note./

"You've got to be kidding me." Samuel mutters the moment he finishes reading the letter. Magic? Manipulation? Of all the things! "I can't believe those guys forced me into this. I could have been doing something productive.... Or at least something not involving stupid stuff like this."

He grabs the box, plucks the ring out of it, tosses the now empty container to his maid, and lets out a long, weary sigh.

"Well, let the game begin. Uh, by the way, your name...." His hand rises to point towards the maid. "I didn't catch it before. What is it?"
