No movement or noise responds to Julian's query. The boy simply continues to lay in his position of pain.

Julian moves closer, putting his hand to the boy's neck to feel for a pulse.
O Muse!
Sing in me, and through me tell the story
Of that man skilled in all the ways of contending,
A wanderer, harried for years on end...

Julian's fingers would be shocked with an ice-cold exterior that's as smooth as porcelain. No pulse is obvious from Julian's check.

Julian shudders, pulling his hand away quickly... he knew he should just go back now and tell Surge the boy was dead... but damn it... he had to be sure.

Carefully, he turns the boy around so he can see his face... checking for breathing was the only sure way.

Carefully wasn't going to happen. The boy's body wasn't moving. Not in the sense that he was heavy or something...but his fingers were locked around his bed...but more than that, his joints weren't even moving. If Julian really wanted to check for breathing he could lift the boy's frame (which moved as if rigor mortis had set in with it's buddy cement) and check. He would find a horrifying visage. The boys face was a frozen look of sever pain. The boys eyes were shut tightly and his mouth was opened in a terribly loud-looking but eternally silent scream. Julian might have noticed all these nifty details if the severely doll-like makeup on the boy's terrified visage didn't scare the bejeezus out of him. His face held the serene shine of his smooth, plastic-like skin.

Luckily for him... he gave up. Anyone that stone cold and frozen up wasnt going to be moving again...

So with the boy still face down he turns and heads out of the room, checking the next one.

(Gahh...you ruin my fun....*ctrl-c*)

The next room was the same except this time a figure was holed up in a corner clutching his head for dear life as if beetles were destroying his brain from the inside out. HIS face was looking directly at Julian in (ctrl-v) a horrifying visage. ((Well its your fault for making him so hard to turn over XD))

Julian stands frozen to the spot... for a good time. "What... the... hell..."

After what seems like forever, he goes closer, looking over the details of the boy... was he still a boy?

The boy doesn't move...doesn't make any noise. He lays frozen clutching his head rearing back as if to scream out for help. He still looked like a boy apart from the heavy makeup that seemed to be tattooed on his face. Julian wouldn't be able to find any TRUE proof of the boy's gender as he was tucked in the fetal position and his nether regions were defended by his legs.

"... this is messed up. I cant believe the girls would do something like this."

He dosent feel anger... just... numbness. He goes to check more rooms.

Julian would get the feeling that this might be what it look like in Pompei if you chipped away all the molten magma off their bodies. All the rooms were the same; horrible positions of boys in what always looked like excruciating pain. Some had tried to end the pain prematurely as was evidenced by the bloodstains of some rooms. The last room Julian got to in this particular hall was an grim sight: What could only be described as a mannequin that tried to hang itself slowly swayed to the left and right of a jury-rigged hangman's noose.

Julian remains silent... his face blank. He begins a search of the base. He had to see if anyone was still alive.

While Surge was checking out the council room, Julian's search for the living was a dismally unfortunate one. No boy he had come across as of yet seemed any more alive than the last frozen statue. Julian (with those who followed him) would find himself at the entrance to the Engineering room where he could hear distinct whimpering from the other side.

Brnin8r wrote:As Surge continued through to the council room, the silence was almost unbearable. A light would again flicker here and there but other than that and the green vapor whisking around the floor nothing else happened. He found himself standing at the council chamber's door. The green light at the top of the door looking almost as ominous as the greenish fog on the ground.

The atmosphere was defenately something terrifing, even someone like Surge would find it hard to walk in it without feeling a bit terrified. Surge quickly opened the door, bracing himself physically and mentally for anything that he might encounter.
"Let me confirm, your shelter shield is activated?"
"What are you planning?!"
"Your shelter is secure, is it?"
"Of course it is! Just see for yourself how powerless you are!"
"...Roger that."
