Technical question! People allergic to math: beware!

Right, so... If you divide 100% of something into three parts, is there any way that math can reconcile the difference equally without a remainder? Now, as I understand it, it's physically possible to have three of the same thing with the exact same mass. But, being the idiot that I am, I don't know any more than simple division to approach the problem. So, if there's another mathematical approach that can solve what division can not, please share. :O

Use calculus. That way you can turn the remainders into limits, or 100% into 99.9999...%, which IS divisible evenly by three. Despite what gobbeldygook it usually looks like, calculus does wondrous things...

Let's do that.

X=1
X/3=.33333333......
3(X/3)=.999999999........
Therefore
.9999999......=1
Now just clean that up with some limits and you're done. Go math!
